  1. Also known Stateside as Rainbow Poplar due to the occasional rainbow array of colours of the timber in a mature specimen Rainbow Poplar | Woodworking plans, Woodworking, Wood WWW.PINTEREST.CO.UK Nov 9, 2019 - This Pin was discovered by Gail Valleau. Jokes???

    Clever deer
  5. I think the insect shortage is the bigger issue. Every other house around here has a Sussex barn for parking the Chelsea tractors so there's no shortage of nesting opportunity; very few swallows though. Interference with migration routes will be a major player also I'd guess
  6. I've seen half a dozen over Jevington, near Eastbourne, and the same again half a mile from here. That's about it. Hopefully there will be more but numbers seem to be decreasing yearly
  7. Sorry, they arrived in Wick last week!
  8. Very striking. It looks just someone's dirty arm
  9. To put it another way imagine the tree in the future twice its current size (and likely more): that's what will happen if you leave it. A stitch in time saves nine ๐Ÿ™‚
  10. ยฃ3k a day isn't huge pay in the circles in which he moves. A family member (by marriage) was charging ยฃ5k a day in the 80s
  11. A pot and a half of tea and two scones, jam and cream - JAM FIRST OF COURSE ๐Ÿ˜‹
  12. Taken on Friday. The season's first swallows for me were a bit out of shot, honest ๐Ÿ˜Š

  14. Another vote for the Magnolia bud/branch but I thought 'don't make a fool of yourself again' so I kept shtum! There are many Magnolias so I can't say the stem isn't one. What other leaves were in the litter?

    OK, who is it..?

No problem there; he's fully insured
  16. A doubt of mine also. We moved into this house a year ago. It's 100 years old and timber framed. The floors of the under eave storage spaces all have insulation but you can see daylight under the edges of the roof. Isn't that the way it should be for such a house? The need to insulate is great of course but sometimes the need to ventilate is also great - I think.
  17. The state of that dining table says otherwise ๐Ÿ˜‚
  18. Wot u mean 'only' conifer? Wash your marf aat ๐Ÿ˜„

    Jokes???

Cycling seems to be a dangerous pastime in Northumberland Heath. I got by in London with cycling jackets - never needed body armour
  20. Yeah, best of luck. Out of interest what do you do with tractors? Maintain them or contract drive them?
  21. You mean your calves ache. Stretch them, along with as much else as you can be bothered with. Any tightness in the legs can give knee and hip problems so it's good to keep the whole lot in trim. A good combined calf muscle/achilles tendon stretch is to raise your foot against a skirting board while facing the wall. For more stretch push your hips forward rather than lean forward. Another possible cause of your issue could be your choice of footwear; worth a look and perhaps try something different; see if it helps in which case there's your answer. You're only a bit over 8 years ahead of me so I do speak from the position of someone whose own body has seen better days - oh yes! Certainly don't give up - that's for girls ๐Ÿ˜‚
  22. Not that bloody old - I'm the same!
  23. Doesn't mean the wood's soft, just that your chain is sharp. Even sharper than it always was that is ๐Ÿ˜‹
  24. Awful. I feel for you ๐Ÿ˜„
