I bought a £200 pair of Alt-Berg Yantans and just could not get on with them as I have thin ankles; all the leather around the ankles rubbed, even after 200 miles walking. I then paid £135 for some material Scarpas and love them; very comfortable indeed.

I'll say! The only weight shown on my 2011 V5c is Revenue weight; the Mass in service weight is blank, along with most of the form! So I know how much I can weight loaded but not how little I do weigh empty! I'll carry on treating it like a car then, especially as it's a King cab.

Complicateder and complicateder. Thanks Ken. Justme replied yesterday somewhere saying that I was a car as long as I didn't exceed the magic 2040kg. What's that? Unladen weight I guess. But where do I find it? Not on the V5, not in the handbook, not on the plate on the leading edge of the driver's door...

The multistemmed growth habit I think is just the result of hard pruning to maximise the bred stem colour; leave them alone and they'll grow in usual form. 'Insignificant flowers' though... I'm quite proud of mine so perhaps not the same as the OP's but it was agreed to be C.alba at the time of posting. I still agree!

Why would this not be a common Dogwood - C.alba is it or sanguinea? This is outside the back door here. My mental image of large Philadelphus has it with flaky light coloured bark.

Got loads in the garden (Caterham); it's a Centaurea, probably montana - Great Bluebottle. I've just found a Google entry stating its invasive habit;makes sense - it spreads fast but it's easily enough controlled. Pollinators like the flovvers.

No idea re the noise but my Nav's currently running 38mpg on BFGs following a return trip to John O'Groat's. Coming past Perth last Tuesday I hit 41mpg, my Personal Best!

That's more the reaction I was expecting but I kid you not. In fairness to yourself I'll bet you drive with more heavy loads than I do and do more towing than me. But 60k miles is a genuine claim.
