  1. Loads of queens about aren't there; 7 in 2 IBCs the other day, then 3 in two barrows the day before yesterday. I'm wearing gloves now for all log handling after putting my hand on a hot bot.
  2. Of course - you know what an honest Jon I am.
  3. I thought that was just extreme fracture pruning.
  4. A thought; if this was insurance company related (i.e. Auto'ass being 'approved') complain to the insurance co. They won't appreciate the comeback.
  5. Been there. They are rubbish aren't they.
  6. Something like this? The Buckingham is great but doesn't seem to appeal to others. I had Laurie make three different sizes for me. He's retired now and I hope enjoying a well earned rest.
  7. £60 for anything coloured green as that's 'garden waste' that gets trucked out and buried apparently. Last I knew it was £30 for arb arisings and £12 for up to a Trannie of clean chip.
  8. Starscream I don't know where you are based but I take it you know about Greenwaste
  9. You'll probably find that keeping 'proper records' of inspection and records of 'independent professional inspection' are conditions of various insurances. No records, no payout if you need it.
  10. Unless there are specific rules for Cautions administered remotely by bodies such as LA's the recipient of one has to both admit the offence and be willing to accept a Caution for it to have legal status. That's in criminal law though; perhaps an LA Caution is just a local record kept by that Authority for its own purposes, in which case I suppose we mean 'warning letter'.
  11. From the leaf I'd say Clerodendron.
  12. If you do end up using that rope - which looks unlikely! - the end can be brazed by someone who knows what they're doing. A welding company near here did my 16.3mm rope end for me.

    Tidal.

Mull, the answer to your original question isn't as far away as you might think... Tidal energy project to be constructed in the Pentland Firth - BBC News
  14. ...and to yourself for pushing it. Sorry, nearly forgot about you there..
  15. Well that's just flippin' dandy ain't it! But top marks to Surrey Pol for contacting you; I saw the case reported in our local Police enews letter.
  16. Too big a tree maybe but the thought was to poke the pole in from the outside and cut branches at the stem.
  17. Tripod ladders + pole pruner/polesaw?

    DdRT Injuries

I've seriously considered it but inversion boards aren't cheap and they take up some space. Coupled with that they're not recommended for those with knee issues as some of your inverted body weight is taken by the knees. Or am I talking about an outdated version of the board?
  19. He's one of those people you wouldn't trust to tell you the right day of the week; read him up on Wiki for a start. It contains some fine examples of 'jobs for the boys' in government.
  20. Apparently. Or this [ame] [/ame]
  21. As all the above - they're brilliant - one of those things you will use almost every day once you've got them. I have a 12' set and a 5' set; you'd be surprised what you can achieve with the small, easier to manhandle ones but the bigger ones are needed for hedges over, say, 9'. I've bought from Browns and Northern Arb too as they were the cheapest I could find. Oh, in case it needs saying go for the 3-leg adjustable; 1-leg adjustable are much cheaper but a false economy.
  22. As a lightish user I've had no problems for years with this Combi Can Green Yellow - Chainsaw Tools Have just bought a replacement fuel spout at ~5 years old. That's the power of Aspen
  23. What you're touching on here is the weird and not wonderful world of HR that has more loopholes for whingers than a pair of original Stihl chainsaw boots. Be fair and reasonable and you'll be OK. As said staff are there primarily to work for the company, not the staff members' convenience.
  24. It doesn't matter if one person is allowed time off at short notice (for example) and not another as long as you treat them equally fairly: that's not the same thing as treating them the same. It's perfectly acceptable to allow Fred a day off with little notice one week because your work schedule could stand it but not to allow Bert the same the following week when the schedule couldn't bear it: they are both there primarily to work for the company.

    Rio Olympics

Adam Gemili was in bronze except for 3/1000ths of a second! And had the honesty to answer the 'how do you feel?' question by saying he was gutted.
