  2. prob would do if i was going to mass produce them....
  3. tried and tested it... the burners do give off alot of heat.. the casing gets a little hotter than 300ºF that paints only good for engines as there water cooled............
  4. dont cut them in half. unscrew the brass fitting and fill with water.. empty the water out (to make sure theres no gas left in) then start cutting and welding....replace the brass fitment with a bolt.. its simple to make... only down side is the paint burns off..
  5. anyone interested in making there own log burner? heres a tip (well picture) to get you going... made from a old gas bottle. simple and effective way to heat a garage, large shed.. might even start off a new trend...

  7. your going to laugh at me but this works a treat on my saws.. doesnt damage it in any way either.. (i use oven cleaner).. (outsides only) spray it all over the saw leave for 20 secs and rinse with hose pipe.... make sure you give the saw a shake the warm it up for 3 mins.. brings them up spik and span...

  10. best to have loads ready, than none at all...quicker,quieter and less mess with a saw bench
  11. steve, if you know someone that has a saw mill,ask them for the off cuts.. this is what i do... its tinder dry and clean... so theres no need to fork out for machines..(only a good saw bench) cant get enough off it in the winter,as it sells like hot cakes.. summers a poor time bbq time.. sell mine in compost bags for £3.50

  19. i dont leave them in rounds to season... as soon as the wood comes into the yard its split and stored, ready to go out for the winter
  20. I'm thinking about storing logs so that I can start to sell them next winter. What is the best way to store them to minimise the amount of work to process them? Any thoughts/your experiences welcomed! Cheers under a large tarp??? keep them (clean) and dry... i find it best to cut them fresh, then store them. this saves cutting dirty wood later in the year, and is easyer on your chains...... i find it easyer splitting wet wood.. if your going to use a axe (keep it razor sharp) have fun..............

  23. i made one from an old transit tipper ram and sub frame about 3 years ago.. took alittle welding together but worked a treat.... welded 2 splitting axe heads to the end of the ram... split anything.. used to run off 12v battery charger (with battery) and had no worrys about running costs...was very quiet as well.. heres one from an auction site

  25. its just a normal gardeners polly tunnel the one you would normaly grow veg in... but on a (larger scale)
