  2. iv put and extra layer of the foam padding in my stihl muffs.... makes a hell of a differance:cool1:

  8. iv never ported an exhaust, but iv taken the baffles out of a few saws...seems much more power... dont know if this is healthy for the saws????there still running ok but with alot more grunt:thumbup:
  9. bob your right....... just read up on sodium chlorate and it is getting banned...... as its so harmful to surrounding plants/animals and humans.... there just waiting on a date to ban it......... better stock up on supplies

  15. we had the same expeiance with an italian guy but with husky saws.... he started one up and straight away we said no.. then he went on to say you must buy it as its been started now............ had to chase him off with a jcb

  21. iv been given a old lister diesel engine,in excellent running order. the engine i have is the same as in the picture just wondered if anyone has made a saw bench with one? as this is going to be the next project.. the air cooled engine is 300cc and runs at 1000rpm was it easy to do? what size cutting disk is best suited for the engine? thanks in advance
  22. i bought a 240v sharpener from machine mart...£120....... saves loads of time and elbow grease.. but beware the machines have to be set up accordingly other wise you will take to much off... plus its always best to have a few spare chains when you go to a job :001_smile:
