  12. Probably need a front end loader, unless you want to shovel it by hand. And apparently the heaps produce some nasty niffs in their later stages of composting. Not forgetting of course that for reasons of efficiency its best to have them right next to your house. plenty of nasty pongs if its left to long, not to mention the little beastys crawling about in the wood chip:thumbdown:
  13. i always say>> (out of sight out of mind) what the criminals dont know or see they CAN'T take..... i do regular runs to edinburgh and it really supprises me how much gear is left at the side of the road (unattended) chippers ,blowers ,saws, strimmers.... dont know if its the council or private contractors, but all it takes is a second to pick up and take it with you or lock it up...... stay vigilant at all times..... better safe than sorry:001_smile:

  16. last night came in from a hard days graft.and the phone rang.. this old dear gave me such a ear bashing and asked when was i was going to return to finish the work on her trees and shrubs,as she had paid up front.. i asked her for her name and address and then checked through my paper work to see if she was right????? i then replyed sorry love iv never done any work in that area for a while... she then went on to give me another ear bashing..... i hung up on her.. and thought nothing more than a wrong number.. then this morning i called in to see her... and it was a wrong number... it was a company trading with a similar name to me.... she appologized straight away, saying she thought i was the other company..... we then had a chat about the work and price the other comany had done.... she stated the other company kept on fobbing her off..... she showed me the other companys card and the price she paid.... (i know who you are lads.......what cowboys:thumbdown:) i told her that she should never pay up front and always try and get a reciept if possible.... i just cant belive the lengths some people will go to, to rip off some old lady...
