  1. That's brilliant! It will be in Aspen Bobs yard by the weekend:biggrin:
  2. I'll get it back up, it will involve splodging around in the mud, with wire ropes, a big Tirfor and a lot of using my digger in anger and running back and forth:biggrin: I just need to try and stop the wire rope cutting in through the root plate as that will loose leverage. I just hope when it rights it doesn't snap the only roots feeding it:sneaky2:
  3. After a monsoon day, we got this. I had to grab a coffee and mars bar and enjoy it. It was amazing how it lifted the spirits of the folk walking sling the prom and in the cafe
  4. This oaks been down for 2 years, i was hoping it would pop back up but no joy, I'll go back with the tirfor on Friday. She's been in full leaf the last 2 summers so hoping she will be a fine pollard and have another few hundred years in her.
  5. At least he's ok. I wonder if any of thr fireman have their arial rescue in trees?( except for the tree surgeon fireman)
  6. Too much weight Johny on the back axle I would think. It could be made to work with a bit of fabrication. Then there's trying to get the spout past the crane. It would be best to move the Hiab to behind the cab if you wanted a rear mount chipper. The Chippers on the best place at the front. That crane is a demount and it's made the same as the chipper mount. So that chipper could clip on the back and just take off the reverse gearbox and job done.
  7. A real mechanic will fix it no probs. Any time we have a query a quick call to AC Price and job done! And if your stumped stick a thread on here and the world comes to help.
  8. I'm the most basic of climbers and riggers. As others have said, start off simple. The most complicated bits getting the slings and crabs back up. Rich that's a brilliant idea:thumbup1: , it wil be perfect for Huck with all his stubs:laugh1:
  9. I've done loads of jobs like this by hand. It would of taken 2 guys a very hard shift, and they would make more mess walking back and forth all day compared to the machine. My jobs will be getting done to suit the machine now.
  10. Today's horrible job made easy. 1 tank of fuel with the 026 and 3.5 hrs sitting with the heaters on
  11. I bought it at the APF 3 years ago for £2k plus vat delivered.
  12. The money and paperwork is no problem, it's how you can deal with a person that will make or break it. Get the right person you can work with, both have the same way of thinking andis fantastic. No matter how good a grafter, it you have different morals it will go sour and be stresfull, and it's niethers fault. When you have done things your way for 20 years and you will be working very close to someone you need to get it right. Take a look at the Staff thread and post your opinion on the situation.
  13. R5log I made an involuntary sound when I saw that pic:blushing: Now that's a splitter:thumbup1: I've for a vertical 9 ton petrol from Fuelwood, can't fault it in any way.
  14. I have ldv Luton £220 Mog £ 400 ish Kibuto rtv £100 All just me Personal car RRS £420 me and mrs Years ago I had a fleet policy and I felt I got robbed. It was meant to be any 3 vehicles, so I bought an Impreza Turbo and they took another £1200:sneaky2:
  15. Sorry to hear this Rich, stay strong. Drs, surgeons and the hospital staff are amazing! My brother got diagnosed with a brain tumour about 10 weeks ago, it was just ' numbing ' he had the OP, got home, tumour was a dud and he's going for an MRI in a couple of weeks and fingers crossed what they had to leave in isn't doing anything. He started a daily Blog about it, gave him something to focus on and a place for others to wish him well and share stories. Stay strong .
  16. Most of my Mog pics of the other ones were with old fashioned camera:laugh1: It's only the last 4-5 years picture taking at work has been so easy. My other pics are on my old slow lap top, and I'm too comfy to go and get it and get frustrated with its slowness:sneaky2:
  17. I really needed it the other day, I could of sectioned in 3 pines and saved a whole load of hand balling and going back with the van, it was an extra 3 hours and 30 mile round trip in the van to collect.
  18. It's definitely worth the money and built for the job, I just have other things going on.
  19. I just got offered it last week and still deciding.
  20. The Chippers an 8" and I don't have a Mog trailer. If I'm around the farm or estate I work on I can just out on the farmers agricultural tipper but not formed work. Im waiting on a 3.5 ton ifor that I've bought and that can go on the back if needed for timber. There's an amazing Mog trailer on eBay just now, probably the best ive seen for versatility for £12.5k I've been offered a 7.5ton twin axle air braked, 3 way tipping with chip body for under £6k which would go straight on.
