  1. That was in the Flying Doctors in 1985!
  2. Owned 1 for 5 years and never felt the need tbh. The lack of stopper would really cause problems for me, I spend most of my time on hills, having to get a piece of wood would be a pain. I have a tail lift so dont use ramps . If it works for you and solved your problem, nice 1!
  3. It's brilliant! Worth every penny!
  4. Bull nose scania, gidoosh!!!!!
  5. Probably had my old Schielsing on the front:thumbup1:
  6. Nice 1 Eddie! Must of been an interesting site! The machines been great, I enjoy operating it, after years of hand balling brash and lifting logs i love picking things up easily and moving them.
  7. No APF for me this year unfortunately!
  8. It's just brilliant, I can rip out root plates, level ground and just generally grab anything, I can brash larch aswell, .
  9. Are Turkey Tails edible? Someone on Facebook just asked me, I didn't think they were.
  10. Free delivery, job done!
  11. Because it wouldn't be big enough for what I had to cut:001_rolleyes:
  12. I did 1 similar a few years back, not as wide on the trunk though, maybe 4' max, a stone dead beech, straight for 40 feet. I felled it for £150, and went back and lifted the timber for free to have with the valmet. We split it over a weekend, it was a doddle to do. Monster rings, bust up with maul and through the splitter. It was bone dry, no rot and I had it sold within a month locally. Approx 20 bulk bags, £120 a bag! Not a bad weekends work! I delivered them on the way to tree jobs so no extra outgoings really.
  13. I'll stick it on my harness and see how it goes. The tail end of my strop makes me mad, so hopefully this will reduce the madness:001_rolleyes:
  14. Had to do it a few times, I was never going up with it, I was working my way down:biggrin: It's like anything, you find a way to make it work, it's only heavy lifting into position, after that it does all the work. It's good fun tbh.
  15. It's in my van!! Thanks mate I shall try it out first chance. It's just like 1 of those washing line things from home base for £15:sneaky2:
  16. The type of trees you do, they aren't all straight and the 1 size, even ratcheting them down, a couple of bounces along the road, I used to pull over and tighten things up. There was always movement!
  17. Headboards for safest mate, you slam on the brakes on a downhill, then it's by by driver, Doesn't have to be solid, leave gaps, I used to take the back guard off the window so my eyes didn't get wonky!!
  18. I think you need bigger bolsters and a head board mate!
  19. Tom, come and get my double Alaskan mill and slab it up, you will be much quicker and the wood will be stunning.
  20. Well done!
  21. I made an involuntary whistle when I saw that!! Stunning!!!!
  22. Nice 1 Eagleye, a quick blow and jobs a goodun!!!
  23. Tp 250 is a brilliant machine! Spec says 100 hp will do it, but better with 120 plus.
