  1. I worked away for a week this year for a company driving machines, there was no extra pay. We got picked up from home and dropped back, put up in a very nice b n b, worked 12 hours, came back to a big dinner and pudding and a cuppa, then it was pretty much bedtime and repeat. I never even considered staying away money, I've worked for myself for years so someone paying my board and food was great and there was plenty of hours to work. All I did was spend £30 and filled a box full of food for through the day that lasted all week and I bought some sandwiches off the b n b lady for £2 for the Thursday , Friday . Job done!
  2. Well done!
  3. Good tip with the positioning of the sling, I just put it to where I feel it should go but that's worth remembering .
  4. Depending on the direction of your pto shaft then either TP or ducker. Ducker have the reverse gearbox.
  5. Well done, take control of your life! Set yourself free. I was in that position 3 years ago , when it was me and my guys, bliss! Bring in made up management! 6 months of itching and heartburn plus paranoia!!! Well you know the rest! Enjoy your new life mate!

  13. At the time it was the least of our worries! Saved paying tax at least
  14. £4K on a new engine, gearbox and clutch for a Mog . £3750 for a new brain for a valmet 8950. Best vehicle loss was £20k in a year on a Iveco Daily 4x4 .
  15. Good attitude! Skill you can teach, the first is the parent, guardian or care givers job.
  16. What spikes are you wearing? Anything with leather can rub badly, especially when wet. I've been on alloy geckos with hard legs, loads of padding with Velcro straps for about 6 years. They are like your Sunday slippers compared to bashlins.
  17. I climb on spikes and descend on Prussik.
  18. No contract, just do the odd job for them.
  19. Damaged a hose on the grab taking a tantrum with a little spruce tree today! I carry spares so 20 mins and I was back at it Exhaust fell off the Mog today at the silencer, so we got gassed chipping! On the search for some 4" flexy in the morning
  20. It got a pat down with the ditching bucket after that picture! The turfs fell apart when lifting most of them, the grass was poor due to bad drainage, hence the job. They weren't expecting grass on the back, so it will grow and look OK from. Whine a wall looking the other way this time next year
  21. Great idea! Shaped up my bank and turfed with demo grab yesterday

  23. My goretex Swazi jacket has kept me dry for 11 years now! Kept me dry today, it's a long smok, so air in the bottom, no sweat. All good
