  1. I haven't dealt with them but I know people who have. Never heard anything untoward and they seem to have a good local reputation.
  2. Forgive me as I may be missing something here. Why would the LA incur the wrath of several hundred people (possibly)? Presumably all the trees affected would be on person A's property? Otherwise he would need to be acting as an agent for trees not on his property. Is he able to submit an application for a third party's trees without the owners consent? Is the six weeks insufficient time for an LA to TPO individual trees or the whole if the TPO criteria are met?
  3. Always doing it. With two of us working while one man's dealing with the last piece the other is on its way down. Def not 'Flintstones'. Job gets done.
  4. Would have been nice today......stuck with a group of stinkwheels:001_smile:
  5. You need a good flow over the wood and a bed of ash.
  6. Seems it was maybe a slip up in communication. I wasn't asked if I was a pro user at the time I wanted to order.
  7. I tried to buy four new saws from yourselves and was told via the phone I'd have to collect.
  8. Similar on a brand new dirt bike I bought that was exported into USA from Japan and then to here. Was about 1k less than new here.
  9. Taken from the AA website re. MOT 2012 Speedometer The car will fail if a speedometer is not fitted, is incomplete, inoperative, has a dial glass broken/missing or cannot be illuminated.
  10. As from 2012 speedo must be working for MOT. It was an advisory for a while but may be in force now.
  11. Stafford is a sub style. The top is self-bound using your pleachers. Derby, as I know it, uses sawn stakes and the top is unbound as it only had to keep sheep whereas Midland and Stafford should be bullock proof with tighter stake spacing. Our local comps use only these styles. The very first comp I won was finished with a heather top to the bindings but not sure why heather was introduced. Hence the alternative name for the binding is heatherings.
  12. I reckon the funeral directors are going to have some fun on the slab. A bit like a balloon that had a picture on it and it's now deflated:001_smile:
  13. I lay Midland, Stafford and Derby. If you can lay Midland then Derby is the same laying off but with sawn stakes and no binding. Might be better Midland and leave plenty of brash.
  14. That would be my nightmare....a spelling mistake:001_smile:
  15. Always like to see them out:thumbup:
  16. Anyone been? Here's a couple of pics of the Meynell and South Staffs moving off from Abbots Bromley today.
  17. That's a Gilpin's Stafford pattern. They were from Wedges Mills, Staffs about 5 miles from me.
  18. Did you fix it? Had similar on mine. Under acceleration it felt like I had rear wheel steering as the axle shifted slightly. New U bolts sorted it.
  19. Nice time lapse of them here [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tS6iX-k_hnY]Clathrus ruber Time Lapse - YouTube[/ame]
  20. Video of golden eagle snatching toddler in Montreal 'is fake' | Metro News
  21. Does anyone have any info on what is required here? The tree is a dismantle adjacent to the fence of a non-electrified line. There would be no need to access the track and the tree would be rigged down. In this situation would Railtrack insist on a banksman on the line? I'd appreciate any info. Thanks.
