  1. For once not dying Ash, just a limb removal from over a garage.
  2. Parasitic boletus growing from an earthball
  3. The old fool is still droning on !
  4. Here in west Wales after the storm in mid May, alot of trees turned brown, which was due to the storm carrying in salt laden air which burnt off the leaves. I don't know where stourhead is, and coastal proximity, but the very dry cold April and May may have been a factor particularly if the leaves/ needles were freshly emerged.
  5. This the kind of stump grinding i like, air con and radio on, watching the horse flies trying to get in.
  6. Leylandii make the best bearers, some of mine are twelve years old, and have only just started to rot.
  7. That will cause traffic chaos, the mighty mendi plogs Jon tootling down the M5, stopping for a chat every now and then.
  8. I'm based in Pembroke, so not far. Give me a ring 07966792798. I can give you a good idea about what is feasible, costs, possible income etc.
  9. And the dead Ash still keep coming. https://youtu.be/9KHLBS_23PQ
  10. In a nut shell its this. https://www.safeforestry.co.uk/ Developed by Callum Duffy, with little help from FISA. Unlike Anything that FISA has done , this works. Everything you need to be compliant is logged through your phone, with desktop backup.
  11. Big tree week in west Wales. An Ash tree with Dieback, and pushing over a listed wall, and a Ganoderma infested beech.
  12. Any video footage Eric?
  13. Good interview Mike, shame about the unhealthy love of Husky chainsaws
  14. Good work Erik, thats some fine looking lumber. Judging by your sooty face, fire damaged?
  15. Jake plate mounts above the 3 point linkage, and is bolted to the chassis. You can mount a crane on it, and still use the the 3pl. A digger with a grab and rota will be a good option
  16. I would be looking for some form of crane to sort the timber once it has been winched up. I did years of manual stacking, and i am now starting to pay the penalty. A jake plate mounted crane on something like a 60hp tractor will be reasonably cheap to purchase .
  17. Have Echo improved the vibration damping/ AV mounts? I stopped using the 450 because the vibrations to my hands were terrible.
  18. I'm still waiting for the video of you driving both in a synchronised style.
  19. Starting to get what the Doosan can and can't do. Just wish it would fit in the average back garden
  20. Any forestry that involves a winch will double your costs. I have never managed to to extract on slopes for the value of the timber, particularly small diameter. Looking at the size if the timber, i would guess £60 per cube would be more realistic. Remember that you are adding value to the remaining trees.
  21. Bitter oysterling, biolumenesent apparently.
  22. I use Laylandii as bearers to stack split timber on, the oldest is about 15 yrs old and has been lying on the ground for all that time. It is just starting to show signs of rot. No other wood including oak has lasted as well as Laylandii
  23. Just changed it @Khriss, should work now
  24. First outing for the new machine @IronMike, this makes the Log bullet look tiny
  25. The makita saws are very good
