  1. Hi anyone know of any forwarding services to extract a hectare of larch clearfelled good tracks and turning not far to haul 250 meters max. Saw logs 8 meter poles fencing and chip 7or8 pounds per cube. Kilkhampton bude area.
  2. Any milled or know anyone that wants large sections of hornbeam couple big buggers came down the other day. Not much on here apart from one guy making skittles and one guy making a gear wheel ? Any info appreciated...
  3. Hahah yes mate made me chuckle
  4. Take a cutting if ya take it doen or graft it save the genes replant or just get somethjng else hahaha the worlds your oyster
  5. She aint going nowhere unless its to the woods with me shes a legend honest only put 45 liters in her for that entire 30 day job what happened to effienciency like that hahaha sometimes forget the last time i filled her up. But yes machinery machinery i love it but it seems to hate me and breaks a lot .....keeps my engineer happy tho.... Suggestions for forestry / mill yard lifting device ah !!! Telehandler Swinger All terain forklift Unimog Forwarder Machine head for digger? Whats ya thoughts
  6. Yes mate my thoughts exactly either as a back hoe (although never heard of a jake plate enlighten me) or 3 ton swinger with grab and also cpuld use for ditching and track work to an extent. And could stil move with me truck, and would leave my tractor with the winch on and grab with swinger to clear landing zone as that clogs up quick. Im deffo not going to be stacking by hand for ever few times to know you can then save the body and get a machine hahaha
  7. Still waiting for the second half to be extracted as a track was not big enough! Make sure your tracks are nice and wide you always need more space than you think .
  8. Yes this is true as this industry needs to start raising rates so we can reinvest into better gear and training people up.
  9. Some short vids of completion before extraction may give some idea of what timber looks like trackside and when its all been lorried away i will share the load numbers with you.cheers 20210402_103320.mp4
  10. Yes it was trackside price, £7-8 for extraction and yes probably sold for close to £50 a ton. The 8 meter poles are being sold for over saw log price but chip is coming out without any profit although it feels good to utilise poop bits and tops at least someone will get to use the energy somewhere. Prices need to go up inline with contractors rates as maintaining forestry gear is expensive, and your basically destroying your body for money that needs some compensation in rates.
