  1. Finished off a birch removal we started the other day . The top of the birch snapped out in the winds . The saw is an 88 with a 3ft bar for comparison . Using the jo beau as my everday TW chipper engine has recently died . I cant even use my landy 110 tipper as the jo beau is to low to chip in to it
  2. Bollocks You can borrow my long tree gaffs for the pops on Monday . Only if you behave
  3. You knew this its just you forgot
  4. Could you pop some pics up please . My 18 hp kohler has just died . I was going to put a diesel engine on it . Although a 16hp launtop at that price sounds amazing . Lots of friends have the chinese copy honda engines lifan/ launtop and all seem great and most genuine honda parts will fit .
  5. set your line in the other tree and away you go
  6. I can see the pic . Yes it was on our local news . What's the deal with it ? Is know one up for removing it .
  7. Cheers breeze block .Sound advice is that . All I need now is to become as skilled as you to fit the beggar
  8. Holly tree uprooted in the winds has exposed an unidentified creature
  9. Not done bad there fella If you had a pair of experienced eyes on the ground that would of helped you
  10. Has anyone retro fitted a diesel engine to the TW 125 ? The original factory engine died some years ago but fortunately for us it was still under warranty . The second engine a kohler triad 18hp has lasted over 8 years . The only addition I made was to add molyslip to every oil change ? Any how this engine is now performing poorly so thought I might as well fit a diesel . Any advice would be much appreciated .
  11. If you live and work in the UK . Just crack on with the work like any other day . If I worked day to day using the weather as a guide to determine whether or not I turn in or not I,d be skint . Rain is rain your skin is waterproof crack on you bunch of fairies I get depressed all the time , just not over the weather as thats just way out of your control and if you live in the UK you have to accept this as fact .
  12. We have 3 Tirfors 3500kg heavy duty one and a smaller tirfor . They hardly ever leave home . Although for everday use it has got to be the 1600kg Tirfor . Which has proved invaluable in the recent storms we have had .
  13. Hate working Sundays , But when your missus turns up on the job site with Fenton the dog and kids in tow that's just ace . My eldest driving the mitsubishi and my youngest having a pic with the 064 . The leaning Pine is to be removed next week .
  14. I,ll second that
  15. My favourite pic is the one of the branch through the Guitar case
  16. Todays job worked out a treat . Many thanks to Rick aka Gnarlyoak off here . He did me proud today . Worked his nuts off all day . Cheer fella
  17. Will post some pics the morn of a Beech tree were currently working on . It has snapped in the wind and unfortunately landed on the neighbouring garage roof . Following this I will post some pics of a pine leaning against another pine . Then a conifer with a root plate lifting ever so slightly Todays work was a leaning Larch which was felled and then onto a failed Oak limb and the last job was a semi fallen lilac which was believe it or not the worse job of the day Sorry I forgot the Eucalyptus that had never been maintained and then failed in the winds pulling down two phone cables .
  18. All the best from my Family to yours .
  19. You behave gimp and keep on the subject at hand
  20. I,ll second that Gnarlyoak
  21. My log burner at home is a 5kw and my 9" logs fit in a treat . So I,m of the opinion that if they fit in my little burner they will fit in most Any special orders are dealt with at no extra charge as we keep some decent seasoned sticks for the special ones Must say my 9 " logs are 1/2 inch either way Don,t really go in for that calibration malarky .
  22. Ha ha ha did that the other day when I forgot the Portawrap Pain in the arse though .
  23. 20 years ago I was using a small steel pulley designed for industrial lifting / lowering . That was attached to the tree using car seatbelts sourced from the local scrap yard Seat belts also made cheap slings .
  24. All 9" unless specified . I find that all new stoves recently fitted seem to require smaller logs ie up to 9" max
  25. Ha ha ha the old wet arm syndrome Door seals ?
