I use a north face jacket for climbing. Ticks all the boxes for me. Perfect little jacket, well was until i ripped the sleeve the other day.

I find that video and the way they used to do trees fascinating. I remember some old photos i saw at college of about 12 people standing side by side in a big birdsmouth they had just cut out of the tree with axes. Mans work!

I think id go down the steroiding a pyrocantha route (bad spelling i no) and bring an end to the war of trees.! lol

Id say that ton bags is the option id choose. You can get plenty in there and not worry about any mess down the corridor. Just dont drag it down there walls . and as someone said a mattock and a postal spade should be fine for digging out the roots on a few shrubs.

I use a normal chain and if you hit any metal then cut somewhere else close to it, as long as you dont gaff the saw hard into the nail for too long you can sharpen out any damage done fairly quickly Also if you hit a nail carve a little x across the cut as its so easy to stick the saw back in there and do the same thing again!

Yeah revisions the key. If your good with the answers to the questions it puts you in good stead for the rest. Just take your time and think about what your doing. Dont rush anything.

Stihl all the way for me. I used a husky top handle a while back and quite liked using it, thought it was a good little saw. But i did only use it once so not sure what it would be like on a day to day basis. Love the stihl tho u always no where you stand with it. Nice sharp chain, can cut anything full bar length, always starts with no fuss and simple on off switch. Job done -

I have an old 262xp running an 18inch bar. Love using it, great little saw would love a brand new one.

The easiest way ive found of doing it is by pulling the plastic out towards you while pushing the other plastic bit from the ear defender in. Takes a few moments but youll get it.

Thats bad news with the surgeon, especially after preparing yourself for it. Still good luck for it and hope it all runs smoothly.
