  1. Looking great Reg. Is it anodised finish?
  2. I do 4 sometimes Matty. With my Silky.
  3. Tell them to take you to court Dean. I'd love to sit in the gallery and watch that one play out. I think they would need OJ Simpson's lawyer to get a result against you! I don't think Sherlock Holmes is employed by Ealing council at the moment...
  4. Ditto that Mac. Got stuff coming in all the time, but it's always £200 domestic stuff. Keeps us going, but Alan Sugar isn't quaking in his boots. Nothing to get the teeth into for ages. Let's all keep our standards up (and prices!). Have priced a lot recently where you just know that you are not going to be doing the work. I can't be arsed to explain that minimum of 2 blokes and £35k of equipment, insurance, tickets etc. isn't going to cost £50 a day. After reading all the stress threads I now try and walk away whistling with a grin on my face. Remember though, trees and hedges have no respect for the credit crunch, and will continue growing. There is still work out there! Think Positive!
  5. Not doubting this fella's skill, it's a polished performance alright. Just think it may set a bad example to the inexperienced - there is potential for mayhem doing this. I've tried all kinds of experimental stuff when chogging down, but always revert back to nice controlled step with the biggest chunk I can comfortably handle. Good, interesting post though.
  6. What an utterly pointless technique. If he took lumps twice as big he could still chuck them where he wanted and do half the cutting. Faster, safer. Puff.
  7. Was the Subaru beamed up by aliens? I reckon it failed an MOT and got scrapped. Thanks man. That was worth the wait!
  8. What's a muck truck mate? Where can I get one? How much are they? Thanks.
  9. Stevie, if only my wit was as sharp as yours I would never have to sharpen a chain again!
  10. I am on the fence here. If a customer has accepted your price, does it matter if it takes 5 minutes or 5 days? But, like Dean, I think they sometimes want to see you graft for your money because they have no idea about overheads. A typical job for us will often have side alley access only to a rear garden. Can anyone recommend a decent truck/trolley for carting 2 man lift size bits out of similar gardens? Wheelbarrows and sack barrows can do it, but I'm after something that can carry 1/2 ton or so. DON'T say Dingo/Bobcat or similar. Unless you want to buy me one.
  11. Bell you next week Justin. Need a few other bits and bobs as well. Or should I post a thread before buying them....
  12. You have to get these big decisions right Stevie. Look before you leap and all that. When I started up I bought a double cab Navara and Ifor Williams tipping trailer. Great set up for major contracts, no? As you keep saying, big kit = more money. But I don't think it applies to trousers!
  13. If my mate picks them up next week, can I return them labels intact if it feels like I have a mattress strapped to each leg?
  14. Ditto Mick! Wall tile pic - lion/tiger cub.
  15. Stevie sssshhhhhhh! I'm waiting till he drops them below the £150 barrier!
  16. Would 32" waist be size S Justin, and do you have all sizes in stock? Don't think I'd need long leg ones! Are they the blue/grey ones? Don't fancy the YMCA colours that much! I really like my Hiflex, but they just seem to reach a certain stage (which mine are at now) then turn into tramps trousers overnight! After my recent thread I might try mix and matching between the two. As for wearing army lightweights over Hiflex? That would be like having sex wearing a condom. And people would think you were a Did not wearing PPE.
  17. Yeah right. Think about what BMW really want when it comes to sourcing wood for their dashboards. And it isn't going to bother these hippies much! I'm off out now to fell a 3000 year old Gingko to make up a new gearknob for my Transit.
  18. BG 85 here. No problem with vibes because it's only used for the final polish up. The real work is done with rakes and brooms. Pet hate of mine is some slackarse reaching for the blower when there is still cord to humped! 86 does sound good. You could always submit a post about how great MEWP's are, then blow the sawdust away with Skyhuck's blast in response!
  19. Any idea on cost of the Posch machine, and what is the power source? Can't get link up. Take it 9t is 9 tonnes? Might be a bit low for the gnarly stuff. Looked quick though didn't it?
  20. Ouch! Been there mate. Pain ramps up after a couple of days, which is a bit weird. I fell off a table p***ed, mind. Take it easy.
  21. Thank God someone out there knows what they are doing! Included bark? Weak unions? Nothing a good topping won't fix. £500 quid alright? Cash only I'm afraid. Orders from the tax office.
  22. Homer Simpson holding up a can of Duff beer. With an unidentified object left of him.... Do I win a pair of Stretch Air trousers?
  23. Leave that lovely Oak tree alone! It's not doing you any harm! Etc etc..... I'm with Dean on this. Should have been culled in infancy.
