  1. Best have 3 ropes then, just to be on the safe side, like.
  2. I’ve got more important stuff to worry about to be quite honest.
  3. Why not just climb on a single rope and stop worrying about it, like 99% of us do?
  4. Not much of a central anchor there Big Lad!
  5. Nightmare Moose! Day 3 of a connie kill-fest, probably a great example of why topping connies is so truly shite. Dead middles, inclusions everywhere and inevitable massive crown spreads. BT lines, LV feed, house and fragile fence in the mix. 12 loads of chip and one of rakings. Luckily all the heavy was staying. Finished at dark o’clock with a cold one. Met this little fella on the lane just before the job.
  6. I was with Arborisk mate. They paid out pretty sharply, within about 3 weeks. We did have a well-documented row about the value of the machine. Their version of a ‘new for old’ policy, which I paid extra for, was what I’d paid new for the machine 10 years earlier! Small print read, lesson learned. Big lesson which cost me £5k. Can’t fault them for communication and response though. The big thing is they didn’t rip the arse out of my premium next time around. Hope you get a quick resolution Clutchy, although C19 seems to be a convenient excuse these days.
  7. What do you call a bear with no paw? Rupert the bastard.
  8. Drunk pic not showing mate. I’m keen to see it as well.
  9. He has rigged bigger. He used to be American.
  10. That’s a pull-off rope, not a rigging line.
  11. It was ambitious Khriss. It was tied to his harness.
  12. Human rights, HSE, Fairtrade and whatever have ruined it all now. Back in the day we used to get the new apprentice drunk then bugger him senseless. Fun times.
  13. The shed guy? Ebay couldn’t afford him Khriss.
  14. Thanks Mick, I assume your exclamation mark was a typo. We had barely even started wrestling. They are truly mental, aren’t they? Top shots Mike and Rich, keep them coming. Redwood shot of Mike with a tab in his mouth is a Beranesque-style classic, piss-pot lid as well.
  15. We had it this Thursday Mick. Shutdown and line drop booked with UKPN 2 months ago. Biblical rain and wind, I normally wouldn’t have walked my dogs in it. 4 of us on a biggish euc ‘pollard’. The boys stepped up to the plate for me, Danny Mac climbing. Massive row with Ruth when she came into the workshop at 3pm to basically find us boozing while thawing out in our pants. Snow on Friday morning didn’t help, but it faired up and we had cracked it by dark o’clock on Friday. 4 loads of chip and 2 seriously illegal loads of heavy and rakings.
  16. Stuff like this used to bother me when I first started up, but I quickly realised that the sort of people who would even think about engaging the services of half-price Harry aren't the sort of people I want as customers.
  17. As Red Adair said ‘If you think it’s expensive hiring a professional you should see the cost of hiring an amateur’.
  18. Aye, sad to hear. I remember him as the Green Cross Code guy as well. Good age, mind. RIP
  19. Unfortunately a lot of people can’t. Pikeys and Asians are the obvious examples.
  20. Said what I was thinking mate. I don’t get what a full wrap does what I couldn’t achieve myself with a bit of effort (which would explain the fat Yank thing), and would certainty hamper fells where every inch counts? I’m waiting to be corrected. Ive used all my saws on pulling and pushing chain upside, inside, offside, outside, downside, BLMside, C19side and Westside over the the years. I’ll be gutted if I’ve missed something that isn’t just a status symbol in the UK.
