  1. Good point. Years ago I felled 12 scruffy connies in the middle of an access track that had been scraped out on both sides of them, leading to a new build. Full planning had been granted for both track and house, and detailed plans were on site. The track would be tarmac with kerbs either side. The TO turned up and said I had just felled 12 TPO’d trees. Apparently granting full planning hadn’t automatically removed the TPO’s, which were slap bang in the middle of the track. The TO was good enough to let me apply to fell them retrospectively, but it was a bit embarrassing for everyone.
  2. Fair enough. Can the brash be burnt on site or does it have to be chipped?
  3. And that is how green energy works. Let’s fuck up some trees! Not a pop at the lads doing the work, I’d take the coin same as them. Funny old world we’re in though.
  4. What a clusterfuck. You really haven’t thought this through, have you?
  5. Only young ones tbh. All the bigger ones have been banjaxed in the core, like this one one. Only about 6”x6” cavity at knee height for this one (just under 3’), but worse above some of the unions. Strong stuff though. It’s weird timber.
  6. Cracking spec Doug! Looks great from my house! Very compromised acacia death here. Bombing chogs onto ton bags worked a treat on astroturf.
  7. Yes, you’ve gone mad. You’ve ignored the old adage ‘If it flies, f**ks or floats, it’s cheaper to rent’.
  8. Indeed. Come on boyos!
  9. Well done for contacting the FC, pro move.
  10. A lot of ‘tree surgery’ firms seem to have Transits and 150’s, can’t climb, and know nothing about trees. This is not a good thing.
  11. That’s not how you spell immigrant?
  12. Stump grinding could work, but you’d need a chunk of money to set up.
  13. A cheap movement sensor alarm would be a lot easier.
  14. I threatened a firm of solicitors with this a good few years ago and they paid up straight away, but didn’t have to go through with it. I don’t know the exact legalities, but I would expect it would be a civil rather than police case.
  15. @MattyFmight know?
  16. @billpierce just seen this on FB if it’s any use?
  17. Nice caveat! I’m sure people do, but they’d never tell you.
  18. This seems to have slipped in under the radar a bit. Anyone got any gen? ISC APEX Rope Wrench | Sorbus International WWW.SORBUS-INTL.CO.UK
  19. Attenborough voice - ‘As Jamil’s crops fail for the 37th successive year, he wonders how he will now feed his 23 children.’
  20. Responding to this!
  21. Oi! I’m from Otterburn! 😂
  22. Millennial lombardy with issues deciding what it wants to be?
  23. Why? They would just say your £100 was only worth £70 and demand £30 extra.
  24. The game is that the money is better off in their account than yours. (For them, obviously).
  25. I’ve used two ropes before when I really NEEDED that dodgy anchor. SRT has largely made this redundant, though. Bomber main anchor and the rest just slings and crabs, as many as you want, with minimum faff.
