  1. Planting a more suitable tree in the first place would have been a much better option, but I get your drift. Any tree is better than none.
  2. I know the bit about earning us money, obviously.
  3. That’s a very tidy result, but it is totally pointless. Post a pic in 2 years time and tell me I’m wrong. Does anyone actually try and educate the customer as to what a reduction will achieve?
  4. They are all correct though Mick! I’m more like you, I left pretty much any kind of reductions in my past, especially pointless ones, but some people thrive on them. Horses for courses.
  5. So tell him it’s too hard, not hard enough, looks good, doesn’t look good and is a waste of time. That will make him think a bit….
  6. How dare you. The only gaps in my reductions are the ones the grinder leaves in the lawn.
  7. Do you honestly think that’s going back too hard?
  8. You could advertise at £900 a dumpy bag, it still wouldn’t be malpractice. People can then pay that if they want or go elsewhere.
  9. You can charge whatever you want. Nobody is forced to buy anything.
  10. Completely. Logs should be £50 a load.
  11. Legend is a word too freely used, but we’ve lost one. RIP Shane, thanks for the memories.
  12. That won’t be half as bad as the ‘Two shovels to lean on’ law that has been bought in behind your back.
  13. Serves you right for overcharging people for years.
  14. Can’t tag Tom Bowen for some reason.
  15. @Joe Newton before he gets on the red wine.
  16. What would you go for if you were only allowed one attachment mate? That’s the problem I can see with these machines - too many bloody useful options!
  17. This is simple user error. You are meant to trash other peoples lawns, not your own!
  18. It’s Newton. Probably some kind of cocktail of red wine, meth and spice.
  19. I’m guessing there were lines involved.
  20. Peasgood that was a tough read mate. You and your brother should hold your heads up high. Your Mam would be very proud of you both, and I hope she’s at peace now. Look after yourselves mate. John, this is a very difficult, informative and thought-provoking thread. Thanks for taking the time.
  21. I’m always amazed at the low value placed on planting. When you think about it, it’s the most important part of our lives, in many different ways.
  22. It’s replacing the newly planted trees which have died mate.
  23. Anyway, I’m off to the coast to stand near the edge of a pier to film some massive waves to put on my social media. Essential journey.
  24. They seem to overegg it a bit since ‘87. I think folks would rather be told their roof will blow off and it not happen than the other way round. The fact that it might get a bit windy in London seems to be the thing that’s driving the media frenzy.
