  1. I saw that mate, and it’s pretty disappointing really. No doubt Fury pushed him, but he had every right to land another big shot instead, which could have been disastrous for Whyte. He was clearly gone, ref called it spot on.
  2. I totally agree that a job like that needs visiting before committing a price mate, but a bit more info would have saved you the trip.
  3. You’ve only got yourself to blame Stu. Due diligence at pricing stage? You’ve ignored the basics covered on a very recent thread.
  4. Some uppercut that.
  5. I would imagine it might be a bit on/off with two people, so adding a fig 8 might be a pretty good idea, and would only add seconds.
  6. I was only joking mate. Two American climbers would weigh more than 500kg. Their egos weigh 150kg alone.
  7. Great spruce bark beetle (Dendroctonus micans) - Forest Research WWW.FORESTRESEARCH.GOV.UK Information about the tree pest great spruce bark beetle ( Dendroctonus micans )
  8. Sorry Open, didn’t read your full reply. What’s the location? Hopefully you can rule out beetle?
  9. What’s the soil type and rainfall been like?
  10. They can’t Dan. It’s only rated to 500kg.
  11. Have a play with a hitch and the Petzl Chicane Joe.
  12. I agree totally Joe. It’s a totally unacceptable response. I don’t use the Runner myself and have no issues with it per se, but you’d expect better when peoples lives are literally on the line.
  13. 90? Are you mental? That’s more than my cock.
  14. Grease for the cutter attachment, not the power head mate.
  15. Absolutely. If you’re going in cold on a £4K one-off removal the customer would be mad to not get a few prices. They could be from £2.5K to £6K. Everyone gets excited about big takedowns. Don’t be the £2.5K guy, it’s shit. Still got some good photos, mind!
  16. Just get a 94. Doobin is spot on. Order some grease with it!
  17. Try and glean as much info as you can from the initial call, and vet the jobs a bit before you start. Obviously you need to look at every job, but it’s pointless wasting time looking at non-starters. ’My tree is very small’ - Explain that you have a minimum charge of £150 or whatever, they may be expecting it to cost £30. ’My tree is too close to power lines’ - Call UKPN, they don’t charge. I saved a 12 mile trip this morning chatting to a lady who wanted some birches reducing, I told her to call me again in the autumn.
  18. The tossers who join every ‘local’ group even though they’re from miles away is one of the worst things about Facebook.
  19. This is from when Mick’s loader broke down.
  20. It’s almost worth putting up with for that final release Gary!
  21. Maybe mate. I’ve lived in cities and didn’t rate it much, I’m too much of a hayseed.
  22. You’d be like a beast in a cage, I reckon.
  23. I had a couple which really sorted out my tennis elbow, along with rest, physio, using a clasp and changing the way I did things. Very much a last resort deal I believe, though.
  24. Northumberland Hampshire (or Hampshire/Dorset border) Cheshire
