  1. You have to prove you have "Available finances" to look after the truck, the first truck is 3k this can be an overdraft cash in the bank and at a push a credit card, you send proof off with the application. it all sounds hard work but its not and well worth it. when you apply put down you are applying to run 2 trucks as if you want another and you only have one on your licence you have to apply for the second.
  2. Yes you will need a maintenance contract with a local garage, no big issue and yes you will need to do 8 weekly inspections, I'm now on 12 weekly due to limited mileage. Don't forget you will need an O licence. The Taco thing is a bit gray, technically you don't depending on your train weight and distance but i have one fitted and use it, again no big issue, I got pulled into a weighbridge a couple of months ago and they downloaded of the unit, was easier than trying to explain why we didn't use it.
  3. Have 2 fir over 2 years and had no bother at all, you will find there’s plenty of moans about ms150s being made of paper !
  4. You fuct forground tree surgery off now then ?
  5. Did mine yesterday on a 4mix pole trimmer, clutch was stuck on, easy job and sorted now .
  6. @swinnyyou say you do a deep grind as 12" is crap but the 252 is only rated to 13" anyway so hardly a massive difference to a "back scratcher" is it. Bandit ZT for the money is about the best on a budget or Pred 38, not had anything to do with FSI but seem to have a good following, I wouldn't touch anything with a hydro head in this power range. My old carlton 4012D is a good machine, wheeled though and can be a struggle to get it in at times but things have moved on and it seems the Carltons haven't! Pred 56 would be my next machine or a big bandit.
  7. Sorry Eggs wasn’t meant to come across like it did! ? [emoji869]
  8. I have and I didn’t disagree with you the 14 days doesn’t inc the day if acceptance but the official line is 14 days like I said [emoji849]
  9. Not quite right there Paul, I had my t’s and c’s checked my trading standards and a written confirmation is good either by text or email, you do have to advise where the said T’s and C’s are available to view. 14 days from acceptance after this period you can have a cancellation cost .
  10. They used to be called “schemes “and send a book out to schools, you won’t get a whif if any work as the schools basically chuck it in the bin if they even get it!
  11. Don see my post above, any feed back from yourself ?
  12. Do you not find it annoying that there constantly live and pic up every chainsaw running ? I tried some motorcycle ones and yes there good but the constant din was a pain, push to talk is better imo. Would like a Bluetooth set but it would have to be ptt and there doesn’t seem to be anything around .
  13. The difference is massive, yes there more expensive but there beautiful built and v fast, as an example we got my son a MacBook for his 18 birthday he is now 25 and it runs almost like new and is still with 350 ish to sell!
  14. Get a Mac, fast, well made last ages and hold there price.
  15. Just a thought, why not contact someone locally who actually knows what there doing!
  16. So it’s not closing then? What’s the crowdfunding shit all about?
  17. Percy, I have had the husky stihl and echo, all good, the husky is much lighter but fragile, the echo is on par with stihl
  18. You guys that are milling a lot, what do you do with the boards? Do you make stuff with them or are you just selling the boards on? Is there a decent outlet for milled timber? I ask as I gave firewood up a few years ago and some of the stems we get in it’s a shame to send for biomass!
  19. What’s the best way of stopping the timber from cracking twisting etc ?
  20. Best be sellin one then [emoji106]
  21. That's amazing, how many prawns do you get per Egg?
  22. Its not dead yet but if you let me at it I can sort that!
  23. I Furloughed my guys 2 weeks ago and have shut down until further notice, both myself and one of my employees are married to front line NHS staff so that pretty much answers the question of should I work with others! For one man bands of family workers I think its not as bad but having employees is a different ball game, Remember the H&S at work act? I don't know it word for word but its there to protect workers and how can I do that in this situation. on top of that the phone is quite, Domestics are saving there money and some don't want contractors on there property at this time, there is the social stigma as well, a local firm to me got grief last week on a domestic job with people filming them, sometimes you just have to accept it and think of the bigger picture! I think the AA have been well off the mark with crap advice recently, I would take advice from the Government not a trade body with no clought.
  24. Yeah that is a bit of a problem!
  25. I will try my best to never buy anything from the slants ever again !
