  1. Wish I could claim credit but its standard practice in engineering
  2. Put a length of string round the pulleys and measure that for length
  3. There are numbers on it, its the length in mm, check it against the old one but that looks like a cock up to me
  4. Any kit only needs a current inspection if you are going to use it for lifting operations. There is no foul or penalty for owning kit that's "out of inspection" as long as its not used for lifting operations. Kit used for lowering would be out of inspection after 12 months and kit used to support a person (read PPE) would be out of inspection after 6 months.

  19. To be fair the average 8wheeler is built to take some punishment but a 2 axle arb tipper, less so:laugh1:
  20. Much depends on what the advertisement comes back with, vocal neighbours can cause problems
  21. They do like to see shorter intervals on stuff like tippers, going on sites is a hard life for a predominantly tarmac dwelling truck
  22. Air horn is mandatory in the cool factor, I was gifted one from a customer who had worked on the rails, intercity air horns are proper respectable
  23. How do you think an English speaking company would handle a CV in German, you can send one but it would be kind of rude without so much as a covering letter
  24. Don't make light Bowlam, Granddad died in the war, fell out of his guard tower while drunk
