  2. Even "LEE LIFTING" were there...anyone who has used them for tree work will know they have some great opperators down here...they had a crane on Tower Bridge suspending a speaker and the sound from it was AMAZING! the noise of the Foghorns from the ships below was INSPIRING!
  3. Defo forget the Knot....the cherry ball is a must and only cost a couple of quid...
  4. This thread has nothing to do with wether or not the Monarchy or celebrating the reign of the Queen is the right thing to do...it,s about my relationship with the Capital of this country.I have been a visitor to London for about 30 years and have worked and lived here for almost 5...in that time i have noticed that it isn,t excactly encouraged to be proud of being English/British for whatever reason, and that has always made me feel sad...i have no problem with anybody here where ever they are from...but i have noticed a lack of Britishness here. Today restored my faith in a Country that i Love and am so proud to come from..it took me over one hour to reach the river due to the ammount of people that had turned out..i have never seen so many people by the Thames and i have enjoyed many new years eve celebrations here over the years...but this was different. There were so many flags and the atmosphere was so friendly..it was like a breath of fresh air!.....the ammount of River craft was unbelievable..it was lead by "Gloriana" made up of oarsmen like olympians Steve Redgrave and servicemen who had been disabled in conflicts...it was a stunning site gleaming Gold as it cut thriough the grey Thames in the pouring rain....The weather didn,t stop anyone from cheering and the Champagne was flowing in the streets. For me ,today was about enjoying the moment despite the typical British Weather and i will never forget it!
  5. I,m liking the thread a lot. Some great examples there... i shall keep my eyes peeled.
  6. Thanks for posting ROG!.....VERY informative!
  7. Very well put....sums it up for me. They are certainly Robust and i agree with the rope prussick which i used to use with a New England Wire core flipline.
  8. I,m Certain that is a GEOMETRID.....My Favorite caterpillar...or "Inch worm"
  9. Going back to the "Nash" thread Dave,i don,t know if you saw my thread on my iminent interview at Kew Gardens...Well,it occured yesterday.I shall post a follow up when i have more info..My panel included Mr Tony Kirkham who asked me what i thought of one specific sculpture of Nash,s..."A Superb peice of wood carving",i replied....That,s what i thought was his retort....until i was informed that it is in fact....Bronze!.......the plot thickens...
  10. In my opinion Dave...More like a load of Pollocks!....not even Kandinsky would appreciate that!

  15. Wonderful and Magical! it,s like one huge Stag head rising from the ground...
  16. Agreed they are indeed coronet cuts and well done james although i would have favoured a back cut and then with a winch or a good strong tug, sheared the front of the stems giving the illusion of storm dammage or natural fractures.would have looked like a true monolith imo...
  17. Pinus Pinea supported and braced in Kew Gardens i saw at the weekend...A Noble tree!
  18. Great to see the Arbotrolly doing what it does best....making life easier...Been using nRedmoosefaction,s AT with the go faster wheels for a few months now and for me i would NEVER go back to dragging like some sort of Arb Mule....No way jose! we had two punctures in the first couple of weeks...got the solids and no were sorted...i,ve carted away tons of branches logs and chogs already. life is so much easier...you can even text whilst pulling it over long distances...rarely had to use both hands it,s so effortless ...I love it!! check out moosies vid...that,s me pulling away a VERY HEAVY load of logs!
  19. A lot of people confused that it might be art...who said it was "Art"?....it,s whatever you want it to be!...if you don,t grt it or like it...don,t look at it. p.s "orange,Red ,yellow" went for 86 million dollers in auction recently...that is described as Modern art...check it out.
  20. Nice trees Ecodau...Also known as "Stone Pine"...I,m curious about the two stubs on the last picture aswell..?
  21. Edwood....two weeks ago i had a similar dilema...i found my dream job but when i looked at the closing date.....i had about an hour and a half to return my application....i have to give myself the chance to work here with that job i thought. It said, download the application pack.......no joy. Tried again and again but it kept saying unrecognised file. So what i did was found the telephone number of the head office and called them and explained.the nice lady on the other end suggested that my only option under the circumstances would be to fins some A4 and do it the old fashioned way....by the time i had comnplketed my own application form and cycled to the head office i had about ten minutes where, sweating and exhausted i handed over a rather hurried scribbled but tidy application form..........I have an interview for my Dream job on Friday. Moral of this sstory is,when in doubt...CALL THEM! Happy job hunting!
