  2. Unfortunatley not...it was a Dark stormy night and the stump was perched on a ravine overlooking a Quarry...it was about three foot high and had begun to rot...
  3. Yes....i used a hand drill will a long bit...went in at an angle half way avoiding the hole and then joined it from the top.
  4. This has been my work in progress and it,s almost complete. Whilst walking in the pennines i noticed a small Yew tree stump in the ground..Yew trees are my favourite and i like to carve using them. It took quite a while to "Waggle" it free from the ground as i had no tools with me..took it home,cut the root off and placed the log between my feet...have no carving equiptment except for one chisel...took about 15 hours to get to this stage...finnished it with 3 different types of sandpaper and some melted Beeswax....i love it. it has a 15 watt lightbulb in it and a £1.50 lampshade from Oxfam.
  5. Great ,great Pictures....please explain how one uses the VTA Stencil. the red insect is fabulous and the picture of (i presume is your family) amongst the stand of trees is excellent....

  7. Awful news... There are MEWPS Everywhere here in London. I,ve worked off a few tall ones in the past but still prefer hanging in my harness of a nice wooden anchor point!
  8. Acouple of "GROOVY" Mogs there with living quarters on them,but my favourite has to be the Spare Tyre Carrier...
  9. I have met Dan on one occasion Recently up a tree...(as you do) so i can only comment on that..and i have to say that he was a very Charming chap and it was a pleasure to make his aquaintance a share a few arboricultural words with him on that Bough...

  14. You have very right to be very proud of yourself and i agree with Mr Blair...i admire your modesty! You sound like a level headed climber. Pictures enhance your c.v. Video footage,anything that shows what you.re about adds to your armoury. Keep doing what you,re doing...Praise from Stephen is praise indeed!

  17. i Agree...i was up a tree with him last week...He has all the makings of a Natural Born Treeclimber..Enthusiasm and long arms..it,s very encouraging to see a nineteen year old starting out so well in this industry...He has So much to learn but climbing trees well is a good start.

  19. Now THAT is Spectacular!....What a location! i dare say that is the highest elevation lunge we,ve had. and the satisfied look, as the Lunger draws on his pipe and takes in the view,it will be hard to beat... You have set the bar very high indeed Bob G...
