  1. lol yeah and expect you to remember them and everything about the job
  2. i always put an expiry date on the quote, been caught out a few times when you go back and you have priced the job to drop cut the canopy and you find a new greenhouse, created flower bed and rovers grave (with headstone and flowers) under the tree...aaaaggggh as you moan to the groundie get the rigging bag:001_smile: so i give them 3 weeks. some interesting replies though
  3. i only take protein after a heavy training session ( pre comps) as it stops my body feeling so sore the next morning, never felt or noticed any side effects Are you working so hard during the day that your body is breaking down?? eat a couple of tins of sardines or tuna that will give you plenty protein but as above posts says its complex carbs you need for sustained slow release energy
  4. yep done that old chestnut before, but you dont get every job so there must be a substantial cost in quoting.
  5. Do any of you guys charge for quoting a job? i personally don't but with the price of fuel the way it is i wonder if it will become common practice. The reason i ask is i had a call with the lady saying "do you do free quotes" but repeated it a few times almost like she was asked to pay before.
  6. no never, ive bought quite a lot of stuff from the states and never been hit with tax or duty i must be lucky:001_smile: heard some people have been stung though!!

    help!

Voice your concerns to him if he is a decent manager/boss he will take your concerns as constructive if not, just dont do it if you dont feel confident, there will be plenty more trees to cut. What job is he on? swap with him and let him do the 50% CR ( too much ) And yes its his name on the van but its your body that goes in the ground if you make a mistake through lack of confidence/experience. only my opinion but i would never send someone in the air if they voiced the concerns you posted, unless i was on the job to supervise and give you support to build your experience.
  14. tut tut tut the youth of today......... whats wrong with a nice cup of tea in front of the fire, how did it end i could not watch it i got all queesy:001_smile:
  15. Hi, ive already introduced myself in the members section but it seemed rude not to do it here... Im Robert run a small tree care/landscape firm in scotland looking for middle aged wealthy widow to look after........ohh wrong forum:scared1:
  16. i think some customers relate what they are paying you to there own wage and think along the lines of "that would take me all week to earn that" without realizing the cost of running machinery, in the same vain as Skyhucks story i once heard one that involved Van gough when asked by a waiter to sketch something on a napkin he scribbled something down and signed it, the waiter went to lift it only to be told thats 100 francs WHAT the waiter replied it only took you a couple of seconds YES replied Van gough it did but it took years to be this good that i can do it in a couple of seconds and THAT is what you are paying for. I dont know if thats true but always liked the sentiment behind it i also used to think did the water reply "F*** you and attack him for being a Pr*** and cut his ear off.........makes you think
  17. cheers, friday it is.
  18. Im wondering what the best day to visit the show, as we are driving down from scotland is there less traffic on the road in that region thur/fri or the sat? also are the prices better on the thur/fri when most of the custom is trade? cheers
  19. Spot on that man
  20. Ohhhh that looks so sore, hope you recover quick mate with full movement.
  21. I enjoy seeing the interactions within the crew, i know its edited for TV but i still find it very entertaining, its good to see something tree related on the tv as well, but i agree the narrator hams up the danger side of it.
