  1. Compared to the number of saws there are not that many processors so not that much extra work to add them to the saw list.
  2. Well done.
  3. Elec impact driver?
  4. WP30 road tow.
  5. So 20-24 (6 days - 5days) bags per day & £200 to £240 per day. Is that plus VAT? If just one person what would you expect?
  6. We had one do that at the last house as we were about 50m from it. We were also 100m higher than it. I sent them a pic of the country if the water level rose by 99m & asked them if they would be worried about my claim if it was to rise another 1m? Well I say country as it was lots of islands.
  7. The other thing I found strange was that they wanted 3 times what is costs to insure my car that is worth double & can inflict damage to other cars & people with possible payouts of 100+ times what the processor would cost in a 100% payout which would be the max payout.
  8. First off I want to see how much it can produce in a day. I might even charge using a different method IE by the 1m3 bag or tonne / lorry load processed. As longs as the wood is to a spec & not all hedgerow thinning's ect. I do know that locally someone charges about £250 for one man & similar processor. So I guess the same or even more than that. I wont be undercutting thats for sure. The thing is I will create my own market & will not be taking any of their customers knowingly.
  9. No point working hard for no profits.
  10. I did an online insurance quote for the processor. They phoned me to confirm the details but to also tell me that it would not be covered for fire. The reason? Because it will be near the fire, then because it was near the fire wood. I tried to explain it was just cutting & splitting wood & was in effect no different to a table say or hydraulic splitter, plus being near tyhe firewood was the same as being near sawn wood or building lumber. However as it had the word fire in the name is was some how far more risky. Way to go JCB for talking yourself out of selling a policy.
  11. Ok so I got a reply. Trailers of any type can not be mobile equipment as they are not self propelled. Not sure what the difference is in reality between exempt & optional?
  12. After checking this the exemption does not apply to trailers just vehicles.

    Which chain

That sounds ideal. I have ordered an 21 LPX. How are your bars lasting?
  14. Justme

    Which chain

    Which bar do you run?
  15. Justme

    Which chain

Cheers for that. I think the old wp30 did have a smaller bar. I am told now the difference is the splitter power and conveyor length.
  16. Which chain should I use on a processor (WP30)? Looking at the Oregon range there are VPX BPX & LPX semi & full chisel I guess there are others too. Second question. The manual says that it is a 72 325 0.50 1.5mm Whilst looking for chains they all seem to be 0.50 1.3mm or 0.58 1.5mm Is the info in the manual wrong?
  17. Cord delivered costs Man power fuels oils ground rental or purchase rates hand tools purchase / replacement processor purchase / replacement Vehicle running costs & replacement costs business insurance Employers insurance Your wages for hours worked Plus the one everyone forgets, Company profits & taxes
  18. Thats below production costs if your buying the wood in.
  19. I am looking for cord wood that can be delivered to the LL53 6LP area. Max 12" pref 8-10" Full lorry load be that 18 tonnes or larger. 18T can get in to unload, wagon & drag will need to split about 200 meters away & reload the front to make the delivery. No arctics. Anyone want to quote me?
  20. Its a matter of knowing which dept to contact re different issues. I am contacting them regularly re different issues as part of my job. Plus make sure its is in writing........
  21. I have asked the DVSA (the new VOSA) for a definitive answer.
  22. Yep you are missing duty cycle. The bigger one will work for longer at any given output.
  23. I would agree. However its not my opinion that matters.
  24. If you want low output for thin metal then look at the Porta mig range.
