  1. I have asked a policman I know that works in the fast responce APNR unit how this would be delt with on the road side. His initial responce was that if its listed as under 2040kg on the system or a google finds it listed as such they would treat it as a car. He is going to look into it more for me. As he was not 100% on it I guess it does not happen often. He works a large city / Mway network. This is the full regs re "dual purpose" So some crew cabs are Dual purpose IF they comply with part two in its entirety. The definition of unladen weight is harder. Does it include fuel, oils, driver ect ect? Vehicle makers all use a different method to show curb weight so CW cant be used. This is what the gov site says in one place but on another gov site is says designed weight so extras dont count. Yet the link below says they do count (and below is the law). The last quote is the actual law. Everything else is interpretation. Only a court can decide what a law actually means. So if stopped do not accept a ticket, caution or NIP unless they take you to a weigh bridge, make you unload the vehicle, drain ALL water based fluids (coolant, screen wash ect) & fuels, remove all loose items / tools ect & then you are over 2040kg, ensuring they use the 5% tolerance.   2. Same numbers but wrong vehicle type you/they are putting the pickup in. Its a dual purpose vehicle so car speeds apply. Its under 2040kg unladen & has selectable 2x4 or 4x4 Dual purpose vehicles A dual purpose vehicle is a vehicle constructed or adapted for the carriage both of passengers and of goods and designed to weigh no more than 2,040 kg when unladen, and is either: constructed or adapted so that the driving power of the engine is, or can be selected to be, transmitted to all wheels of the vehicle or permanently fitted with a rigid roof, at least one row of transverse passenger seats to the rear of the driver’s seat and will have side and rear windows - there must also be a minimum ratio between the size of passenger and stowage areas
  3. By pickup you mean single / double cabs like the Rodeo & not flat back transits? Can you please tell me who the organiser was so I can contact them? That is not what the law says. Cheers
  4. Just spotted that the link to the FW is 4 years old & there is not a single comment. Suggesting that the article was a fishing exercise that came up short. The double / single 2040kg is a red herring. Thats to do with Operators licences / Tacho's
  5. Prob on the road works as he is allowed to do 70 as he is not over 7500kg or articulated / towing.

All traffic on them must be going the same way & a physical divider or barrier between traffic flow. DC's can have one lane in each direction. SC can have multiple lanes in each direction.   8. The only way to have a C1E 107 is to have passed your test prior to 01-01-1997.
  9. You dont have the B1 (well you do but its not what you mean here) you have B. So would have BE. Your C1 will still be restricted to 750kg trailer. You are better off doing your C1 & then C1E but it will cost more.
  10. With the cost of delivery I cant see it being viable. Do you really want to sell to another supplier locally that will then be trying to sell into the same market you do?
  11. I doubt you could make it stiff enough or mounted ridgedly enough to stop it moving if you fell on to it so you would still hit the chain

  16. If they need firemans carrying out they are dead anyway so can wait. I am sure the responce rates for the helimed are less than 30 mins for anywhere in the country if you actually need them.
  17. I want to insure the machine for theft, damage ect. Last time I had NFU insurance (smallholding policy) they wanted to cover everything or nothing.
  18. I seem to be struggling to find a pure plant insurance policy. Most want to sell a complete package or wont cover as I dont do normal Arb work or wont cover for fire risk as its near a fire / firewood. Suggestions?
  19. £5M tends to be considered not enough for most reasonable sized jobs/outfits now. Remember its not the house that would cost but the 3 disabled kids you create inside that need looking after for the rest of their lives.

  25. No quite sure the point you are trying to make as you have agreed that you could have a car & trailer that actually weights under 3500kg but has a MAM over 3500kg & you would get prosecuted.
