  1. Could mean that some new car buyers will switch to buying a car after the first large payment has been made.
  2. None without manually guessing the length or modifying it. It says it does 12" to 24".
  3. Do you know the fuel consumption per hour? Will you be selling the fully galved ones too? Any reduction for collection?
  4. Why? Seems odd to not fit tyres that can do the legal UK limit of 60 mph for trailers. Fitting F rated tyres to a combination that can exceed their rating sounds very very iffy & possibly has insurance & licencing implications. It def has C&U implications. Tyres are rated for the speed the vehicle can go (or all car would only have L rated 75mph tyres fitted). With allowance for its performance re acceleration, cornering & braking at it load limits. Has someone mis read the 80 load index on the tyre (for weights up to 450kg each)?
  5. If they can get in the first pipe by design they will get in the second too. If you want a twin pipe system make both root proof.
  6. I would guess that all of you that did the courses at your own cost were subbies or fully self employed? Employees should be trained at the cost of the company. Inc being paid for the time on courses. I fall into the its not right to expect them to do this in their holidays camp. However there might be a third way. Instead of a tie in/pay it back period get them to use the holiday time but for each say 3 or 4 months they stay after the course they get back 1 days holiday allowance. Over the first year they would not loose out by more than one day. Poss even keep it running so that if they stay for 2 years they earn an extra days holiday? At the min I am having a similar issue with my sons employer. His employer needs him to have his B+E licence due to a change in his work. I teach it & the employer thinks I should do it for free. My son does not want the licence for his own use. He has told his employer that he will do it but that they must pay for it as if I do it for free then I am not doing a paying course for someone else.
  7. To prove it just swap it to power up not down & set the spring to pull it down.
  8. You cant control the ram extension when you are pushing it. It can be pulled out. Your drop control is just the spring at the min. You can force the saw into the log but not hold it back. Set it up the other way with a single acting ram powering it up or set it up as a double acting ram. You have the port already as it looks like a double acting ram.
  9. Dont hold your breath. Sometime you get a good responce quickly. Other times its no responce or such drivel you think they have read someone elses question.
  10. Question has been sent.
  11. Remember this will be going to a pen pushing government employee. If you dont say what type of trailer they might assume its a lorry trailer. When a sub 3500kg trailer is unhitched and unassociated with a tow vehicle is it classified as a "vehicle" in its own right and subject to road traffic laws / Highway Code. If not, is there any other regulation which would preclude it's being parked on the highway?
  12. Thinned it down for you to the only solid bit that def applies to trailers. It also implies that a trailer is not a vehicle or it would not need to specifically mention trailers as well as vehicles. A quick straw poll on a vehicle trainers group resulted in it being down to local council bylaws re blocking the road which could result it it being removed via a removal order. I would guess that one of those would take time to get. If you want to pen your question in a clear & concise way I will forward it on. Replies tend to either be quite quick or take weeks & weeks.
  13. If you want it from the horses mouth I can pass this on to tech sup at DVSA (the new VOSA) for the real answer.
  14. You can pull a single acting ram out easily when its set to power extend. I am positive that this is what is happening. All that is stopping the saw falling into the log is the spring. Its not getting to the stage that the ram is pushing the saw into the wood. Its being pushed against the spring pressure till the chain bites then its pulling in to the log. Change to a double acting ram (it even looks like it is one with a blanking plug in the port) & fit a spool block for it so you can control the decent. Try it by pinching a service off another item to prove it. The flow needed for that ram is so small it wont be the issue. That ram only holds around 0.5L full range.
  15. It looks like the bar is pulling itself into the log & not being controlled by the ram. Is the chain ok? Is the ram set to push the saw down into the log or hold it up? IE if your pushing the the saw can pull its self into the log. If holding it up then all you need to do is control the ram emptying speed. Edit to add, Just looked again at the videos. You have the ram set to push it into the log. Problem is it can move out further under its own weight or the chain pulling it into the log. Use a ram with power in & out so the decent is controlled.
  16. The above is what I would do. Trying to have the speed of the bar lowering fixed will be a compromise if you do get it working. Too slow on small logs slowing you down and to fast for big ones causing it to stall.

    Trailers

Not that I know about. GTW is up to the manufacturer to spec. There is a recommended 80% real car weight to trailer weight that caravaners use but its not law.

    Trailers

Er your numbers dont add up. vehicle MAM is the weight it can be inc its load. vehicle GTW is the vehicle & trailers MAM's added together. you vans pay load is 1300kg Your trailers pay load is 2050kg Non of that helps work out what you can tow as you have not specified your GTW. If your vehicle does not have a GTW on the weight plate then it cant tow at all.
  19. Spotted this & wondered if it had a place in tree work? Auroco Epic - Portable Auto-Belay for Lead Climbing Not just for the actual climbing but using it for rigging / lowering via the remote control.
  20. Could be the valve spool block. Try swaping the connections over so the lift curls & the curl lifts & see if the problem moves.

    Overloaded

Dont put a strap against a strap. Under load they cut each other.
  22. I was close its 2300L. Under that & its 5% for all users. Over & commercial pay 20%. This is boiler juices notice.
  23. Under 2500L (I think) it should be 5%. I know when I buy 1000L I only pay at 5%.
  24. I cant even book a driving test at my local centre. The other one 35 miles away is about 3 months +.
  25. Yep thats standard. I have just booked up to the 15th March & if you wanted me then the next test would be the 20th or 21st March. The issue is two fold. One the DVSA are short of examiners & also want to run at an 85%+ capacity. So no unused tests. Two, the big companies can buy up the tests in advance, hold them & if they then dont use them drop them just before they would loose money on them (5 days before the test date). I can also buy up tests & hold them but it ties up a lot of capital & I am not allowed to buy as many as the big companies as a % of how many I do. Each week they open up the next week at the end of the line. Our test center has 20 trailer test slots per week. The two big companies can buy 16 of them. The other 4 have to be shared between the smaller set ups. I think there are 4 or 5 of us who use that test centre. Ideally I want two tests per week, but at least one. As it stands I am lucky to get 2 or 3 a month. Add in that most people dont want to book & pay for this 2 months ahead & the system really screws up the small guy. Would be much better if the wait time was about a month. The tests they drop some times get picked up my smaller units like me if I can get a customer who can do the training & test at short notice & I dont already have a prior booking. So for me its about the 2 month lead time or 1 to 2 weeks short notice.
