  1. ditto, am waiting for more info also when you can give some
  2. some of the best climbers I have seen look they were born in the canopy of a tree, they just look natural, balance is instinctive, theres just something there I can't put my finger on...myself, I find I have to work at it, it takes alot of effort, thought and concentration but I enjoy the work so don't get too hung up about what that special quality is....but whatever "it" is, is what makes a good climber...some people just have more of "it" than others.
  3. got a link..?
  4. Am I right to assume, by your posting of a photo of spinal tap, this somehow negates the possibility of the existence of lycra and long hair within rock climbing community..? That single piece of evidence has blown my crazy theory right out of the water, I feel a fool...forgive me.
  5. my pleasure. tbh, I'm no fan of rock climbing, it's all alot of lycra and long hair if we're honest....but I do like watching crazy dudes doing crazy things, and he was most definitely a crazy dude.

  8. just a thought... ..about 18months ago we deadwooded about 40 pines and cedars for some rich dude in wales, the firm we were subbied to hired in a 70ft boom lift mewp, I don't know much about mewps but it was on four wheels, was counter weighted and you could drive it at full extension/reach...all the trees were just about within reach of the driveway..(loooong drive)..and with a mewp operator and 3 climbers we were boomed into the the trees 1 after the other, roped in and just abseiled down removing the deadwood...made a big job ridiculously easy and enjoyable..could be the way to go if you can get the right piece of kit.
  9. ok, can't help that far south... post some piccys of the finished article though...
  10. where?
  11. thats me that is... Looks like it could easily be that height though in that last couple of pics. we deadwooding an avenue of limes in birmingham years ago, the guy told us they were all 90 footers at least, but they didn't look it when you were stood in the avenue looking up, when you finally made the top though you could appreciate what he was on about.
  12. 100+ rupe..??..The first set of pics are very misleading, the last set put it into perspective just how big that tree is. top job. looks the perfect weather for it.

  23. crazy sawdust lady would have loved that...
  24. finished and home by 1. todays obstacles were wind and horizontal rain, add plenty of sawdust and by the time I had done I looked like I had just climbed out of a bowl of ready brek.. The tree is staying like that now, it's a big old lump and won't hurt anything now...call it home for a few beetles.
  25. certified greatness...
