she'd better not They may have already done it, we had to get back to our original job else we would have stuck around a bit longer. Don't know if you remember the "Holly and Crane" thread of mine ages ago with the Bedford Boughton... http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/picture-forum/6106-holly-bedford.html ..but the owner of that crane is on standby to go in and pull out the stuck 360 once the groundwork is done if the contractors can't get it out. He'll take down one of his monsters and drag it out by it's earholes I expect.

sadly not swb, they have a fair bit of groundwork to do first so they can pull the 360 out without the bund collapsing. I'm only guessing but I expect they will be doing it tomorrow, am sending the old dear down with the dog and the camera in the morning to report back..

It is a national trust site mate, so they wouldn't wear that. It was the NT that contacted us first.

The machine was fairly well sunk into the bund that is keeping the countless millions of gallons of water in a very large man-made river/lake. Downhill from the bund is a village a couple of miles away, within reach of the water without a doubt. They will have to build a new dam the river side of the bund and re-inforce it before extracting the machine, things were well under way when we arrived there, haulage and machinery aplenty. Anyway, on with our little contribution to the cause. Raised up the Plain directly behind the sunken vessel to give enough clearance for rescue from the big daddy excavator. Some light rasing of the poplars to the left and thorn to the right. and large lower limb removed from poplar to the left of gateway. "The rescuer"

Batphone went off this morning whilst we were working on the roadside.."We need you to come and clear a path for a large 360 asap" Managed to pull away from the job we were on and arrived on site to see what was needed. Some raisjng up etc to enable a big digger to rescue a little digger. I shan't say the location to save the contractors blushes but a couple of you may recognise it. "It's down here" "Ah, I see it now...looks a bit sunken"
