  1. im jealous! had serious site issues over last 2 months,had to move 30 ton by hand and a van,set me back big style!!

Makita.....made by Dolmar in Germany,one of the the longest established chainsaw manufacturers going! if ya aint already gathered i rate them,yes parts and service can be a bit of a problem but i work on my own saws so ok for me. My current saws : Sachs Dolmar 111 Sachs Dolmar 115 Stihl 038 Magnum Dolmar 6400 Makita DCS 7900 I expect the backlash from the Stihl and Husky boys!!

I had trouble with a DMF on a focus TDCI,had it at the stealers twice under warranty and they blagged me with injector probs etc.Had my usual garage look at it (by which time it was out of warranty) new DMF,clutch,bearing etc.......800 quid.....ouch! Sad thing is ford knew about DMF probs with TDCI......not a whisper to me though....car sold will never set foot in that ford STEALER again. Good luck!!

  9. Have exhaust modded all my saws,here is a pic of my sachs dolmar 115,dead esy to do with a Dremel Done the Makita 7901,thanks to Scotclayshooter new makita DCS7900 video by ndb100 - Photobucket And before anyone says......yeah i know i didnt have head/ear protection on!

  12. Have to say Ash is probably my favourite,although i burnt some bone dry 3 year seasoned willow earlier this winter.....man that stuff burnt hot!!.....just burnt too quickly!
  13. I have a Fiskars Super Splitter,there is not much it wont split!! If all else fails i have a mate with a MDT 25 tonne hydraulic splitter that i borrow of him when ive a lot to do........fantastic
  14. 038 magnum,not sure of year, couple of sachs dolmars,earliest about 1984!........cracking saws
  15. Re Laburnum as firewood Burns hot as hell when well seasoned! and fine to burn in a closed stove.
  16. keep it!! i have a couple and are excellent saws,if however you do decide to sell i too would be interested!
