    Theft!!

not good for you, hope you get your gear back, I am a 100 miles north of you but I will keep my ear to the ground.
  4. This would be ok but there would be no warning for the operator that the chipper was upto capacity especially if the tractor is very overpowered as the chipper would not pull the tractor down suffisciently for the operator to notice the change in engine note. The welfare of the chipper would be solely in the hands of the operator, which is not too much of a problem if the operator is sensible and does not get distracted. I would still say get the chipper to suit the tractor or visa versa and take the pressure off the operator and the chipper:thumbup:
  5. Something you need to watch is that the higher the hp of the tractor driving the chipper the less the stress management will cut in, if the tractor is so overpowered the flywheel speed will never drop enough to allow the no stress to kick in so where the no stress would protect the shafts etc from being twisted with a correctly matched chipper and tractor there will be no protection with too much hp, some chippers may have a slip clutch on the shaft which will offer some protection and some may also be belt driven which also gives a weaker point to slip but the right chipper with the right tractor is the best bet all round. IMO:thumbup1:

  9. Just to put your mind at rest regarding the buckles, this has been addressed and any future harnesses are coming with new buckles which will overcome any niggles some may have had. We will also add that this harness of course has all the relevant certificates, CE etc but if there are any users who feel their Harkie harness is unsafe to use please get in contact and we will replace with the new version when it arrives. As a company who are always looking to improve and exceed expectations on products and service Harkie appreciate any feedback you have. Feel free to ping any feedback direct to [email protected] Harkie are also working on a range of sizes of the harness to make sure there is a harness to suit all requirements. The other points have been taken – thanks for the input. Keep the comments coming on arbtalk also, we are very keen to hear what you think and where we can improve. Cheers:questionmark::questionmark:
  10. You may laugh, its the future, the idea actually came from an old tree surgeon mate of mine who swore by itn no spotty foreheads from sweat rash either. As for the nose bleeds, thats where the tampax come in but the string gets stuck in your teeth
  11. I will let you into a secret, the best sweatband for any helmet is, a little embarasing but extremely effective, have a word with your good lady (if you have 1) and ask her for 1 of her sanitary towels, stick it to the forehead strap on your helmet, with the absorbant side of the pad towards your forehead. you will not get a better sweatband. I passed this idea onto 1 of my biking mates because his glasses kept steaming up when riding, he has never looked back. Try it you will be impressed:thumbup:
  12. I take on board your issue with the weight of the chippers and towing but are you letting the need for an additional class on your licence restrict the work you can do on site. If your work only ever requires a 6" chipper the B+E is not really important but what happens in the future when you need a bigger tracked chipper on site, do you not bother pricing for the job, or do you risk including the extra cost of delivery and collection of a hire chipper and being outpriced? The towing weight issue is not getting any better, infact it is only getting worse as fewer people can legally tow larger trailers and chippers. I am "lucky" enough to be of an age that even if I had not put myself through the old class 1 test when I was 21, I would still be able to tow larger trailers, Employers that I speak with are reluctant to put people through the test as they are afraid that the extra driving qualification makes the employee more likely to be poached by other companies. Why not make yourself more employable by putting yourself through the test, you will need it at some point in your life. Sorry for the rant but this problem will not go away and many of my customers do see it as a huge headache:banghead:
  13. Take a look on the Harkie stand, you may be pleasantly surprised:thumbup1:
  14. Take a look at Escape Bikes - Where will the ride take you?, new shop with very helpful staff and some excelent offers, speak with either Sam or Matt and they will do you a great deal. They do the "bike to work scheme" so you can ease the pressure on your wallet too. just bought a Ghost Miss AMR for the good lady, did me a great deal. PM me if you want any further info. Cheers:thumbup1:
