  1. could be on to something there doug.
  2. sat couse with treevolution in wales. bedgellert. boss put me through it as he thought he could hire me out to do other peoples kit. did course over a year and half ago still waiting to look at someone elses kit apart from our own 3 sets.
  3. we have a turn table one at our work. it is a great bit of kit, apart from a few snags. 1- most of the nuts and bolts tend to work loose at about 400hrs and fall out 2- the main prob- when feeding in brush it sometimes gets caught betwen the rollers up the side , jamming them open by about 2 inches. so you cant feed smaller stuff in until you have cleared the jam to close the rollers back together. 3- they tend to be quite messy, drop chip out from the rollers onto the floor. 4- still waiting for 4.

  5. Has anyone else noticed this? We have been felling quite a few in recent months. young to semi mature. when they are cut up the wood smells very bad and is really water logged.

  10. i've noticed in a few pics that the carabiner is attached to both rings, i use it only in 1 ring, does this matter? am i putting too much trust in 1 ring? cheers
  11. that is really bad pay as i think a lot of stress will be involved. there are some real lazy students out there.
  12. we have been working for Northants police for years, then all of a sudden apparently we need a constructionline approval. so more expense for the boss, 90notes i think. more jobs for the boys in their office.

  16. i think you will need cs 40/41 and a loler inspector course and MEWP and p'haps sandwich/tea making course.
  17. there is a chart that shows timber weights per ft or mtr, i cant remember which. the chart is used for dissmantling.

  21. i have a pair of the uvex and have drilled a few more holes in them to get rid of the steam. work pretty well. been working off a mewp so a fair bit of dust off the 360 going all over me, but not in the eyes.

  23. As i am one, i would like to know what other speckys wear to protect their eyes, other than the standard mesh face masks built on the helmet, thanks.
  24. does anyone find with the petzl and other helmets alike that whenyou have the chin strap done up , the ear defenders dont fit snugly to your head, they tend to clamp on the straps instead of your bonce??
