  1. I was with a company who was with the aa. They pushed to have 40/41. So we did the course. It was brilliant, a fair bit of maths involved eg, loading and dropping of wood. But I can't really see why we did it. I thought it would be for insurance but people on the forum don't think it is needed. The course was great so if you can do it.
  2. Engine Tick Tick Tick BOOM!
  3. Why didn't you use a ladder to the first limb then just climb to your way up using personal line and climbing line?
  4. Get one of these
  5. Haha. The kirk vest as I know them as.
  6. Ive never crown thinned a conifer. Stupid thread!
  7. Uh oh, no reply!!!
  8. Do you need a shredder for conny clippings? They won't shred down much.

A day in the life of Vinnie. Sporting winter wear.
  12. Have I made this knot up or is a recognised knot?
  13. A view from the other side
  14. I have it on my personal strop and it works bloody well with a micro pulley
  15. Sorry mate I struggle myself. It seems to be the hardest part of the job sometimes, finding a place to tip. There are places to tip at proper places but it costs a fair bit to tip off
  16. Not a lot of room for suspension travel on the back of the tranny mog.
  17. Do all the IW trailers have the double press for quick lowering cuz I can't make mine do that I just manually turn the valve and get on with other jobs while it lowers down. Some people have a health and safety issue with this I do not.
  18. I have been with trust for one year but in arb for ten. I thought that was the whole point of a cs unit, was to show competence in that field. Otherwise what is the point of doing it ????? I'm confused now.
  19. My insurance company wanted to see my cs units. Trust.
  20. Use an app called tapatalk. It takes a bit of getting used to but gives you all the stuff you need to know and let's you do what you want to do.
  21. Piriton- 4 times a day !!!!!!!! Blimey. I bet that made you feel really bad.
  22. So in order to show your compitent you need a cert of comp ie a cs unit. If you don't have basic chainsaw units a person is unlikely to start off with getting insured. The insurance companies want to see your tickets when you sign on the dotted line.
  23. If a person does not have 40-41 and is dismantling a tree, has some sort of accident and insurance gets involved. Would they be insured? I have 40-41 but a lot of the 1 man bands and small companies round my way do not. I make a point of telling them I have the right u it's to do the job but they don't seem to mind.
