  3. I drive like Im 95 not at 95. haha Any tips on what to look out for or listen out for??? Only thing I have noticed is a squeeking coming from the fan belt, and the battery light is glowing a bit whillst driving. Alernator??? need new or need adjusting to tighten up the fan belt???
  4. I can't believe you had the tenacity to drop a tree of that magnitude so close to a greenhouse. What sort of felling cut did you use? Did it make a crash or a bang? Did you film it so you can explain how to do it to inexperienced folk? Ed you are a legend. How much did you charge for that birch?
  5. 2days in and not broken anything yet. Am I not driving it right?
  6. I have just joined the ranks of the green oval owners club. 300tdi Disco. Kinda scared but excited aswell.
  7. Not seen these. Got a link?
  8. Have you really dumped a pile of chips in someones car parking space???
  9. Picked up a couple of t-shirts from Honey Bros at the APF and can't find anything to do with Arborwear clothing on the website. Does anyone know if there is a stockist in the UK. They have some quite smart apparel. Tree Climbing Pants, Tree Climbing Gear and Outdoor Clothing || Arborwear. I fancy some of the original tree climbers trouser for those pruning jobs when c/saw pants aren't worth it.
  10. There's loads of pictures on the forum mate. Have a browse.
  11. I honestly did have a "what would Stevie do" moment. Then bottled it. I did put my west highland accent on when I gave up rigging again though.

    Jokes???

I wondered where that was going. Haha.

    Jokes???

(Yorkshire accent) We never had pedophiles when I were a lad...... We had to buy our own sweets.
  14. It's not an outfit, it's a costume. Haha Got bored rigging stuff in the end so we just yanked 30ft tops out. (seen it done on YouTube so it must be ok, )
  15. Hahahahahaha. I love my tree cutting costume. I'm ace. Your jealous.
  16. Stretch air make the best quality braces and you don't have to have a company logo plastered all down them. Unless you like that sort of thing. Very little difference between Stihl and Husky. I would always advise getting someone to put some extra thread through the button holes before you wear braces.
  17. Haha, I did do a nice one with a lunge but I will save it for facebook as I wasnt tied in.
  18. If they are buying without complaint, leave em to it. Wait for them to start looking elsewhere before thinking about discounts. What would be the point???

    big beech td

haha, awesome. I especially like the bit where you mention me. Totally randomly. More of the same please. Good publicity for my world domination.
  20. I wouldnt advise watching a video on youtube and thinking "oh thats how you do it". Every job is different and its the same with cranes, weight limit, reach limits, crane drivers, where you will tie the pieces off, type of cut etc etc are all factors that need to be weighed up to make a crane job look smooth.
  21. couple of pics from a dirty Poplar we did yesterday. Been topped out a few years ago and was not very stable. Loads of rot. Good fun though. I came dressed to be seen.
  22. Ask a local firewood supplier in you can borrow one? Dunno. If the wood is to burn yourself then it doesn't really matter. Just cut it, split it, stack it and leave it for a year. Will be fine.
  23. Using a moisture meter usually helps. An electronic scientific gadget. Beware though, there are a few cheap variants which dont work.
  24. Depends on where you store the wood. Saying that seasoning wood is almost irrelevant is a joke. Right?
  25. Seasoned means aged. Log baron has it right ( that's why he's the log baron) How long certain woods take to get to an acceptable moisture content (less than 25%) depends on lots of factors. How soon it is split, how/where it is stored, is it dried passively or being forced. Lots of different factors. You cant just say a certain wood will take a year etc. You can force dry wood in 24hrs.
