  13. you need to raise your prices then:thumbup: work out how much these shops sell them for bet you could esy sell them half price
  14. I heard a story of some farmer getting someone in to crown raise 3 big ish oaks and canopy clean all 3, they stacked all the brash in the hedge at foot of tree and was there for half a day. £10,000. Later that year my mate was sent to these trees to clean the crown and raise them the same trees !! Farmer thought he owned trees but turns out the council own them!! Farmer was pithie to say the least. Not sure how true it is but could belive a verbal joke quote and customer accepts !!!
  15. why not work out a price per log? say you get 75/80 ish in a bag and sell it for £25 then divide it up and tell customer how much it is per log!!! make sure you always get minimum in each bag then you can garuntee x amount of logs:sneaky2: how many logs would you like? delivered in 100/ 200/ or 500 logs at 20p each say. you could then do a deal BOGOF or something you could then goto the small log at 10p or the medium log at 12p or the big bugger for 15p yea i know it takes more cost to produce smaller logs . Imagine the phone calls with that lot on offer:lol:

    HC removal

top work huckie lov that set up it has it all good stuff
  17. try looking up MERLO they do telescopic handlers with 3 point linkage on the back and PTO. Using a man platform is ok as long as the platform is attached to the machine with a locking attachment (not slid on the forks only), the man in the basket has harness and attached to the basket and finally there has to be a lock on the tilt of the basket so that it can`t be tipped while in the air, the easyest and best way of this is to lock the lever in the cab if using a joystick machine a piece of wood cut to fit over the joystick that stops it being moved sideways is acceptable. Done lots of field side crown raising using a standard manitou telescopic and it was fine, good for odd trees here and there, do a bit the drop off the basket stick on the grab and push it in a heap. biggest problem is you have to work backwards otherwise you have to move all your branches before moving forward, another warning is never cut behind or above the boom as branches will slide down the boom and through the window!!
  18. i hope that in take chute moves if it don`t it will be a bugger to fill with fuel from a jerry can!! nice little chipper otherwise
  19. chain oil and beer , mmmmmmmmmmmm nice i guess veg oil will be ok:001_tt2: don`t think my local landlord will go much on a saw fireing up everytime i have bottle though
  20. to be honest i don`t think you will find many tree companies that will turn up and chip what waste you have created and take it away for less than £50 evenif it was 10 mins chipping they would need to cost in 2 people, a van, a chipper and removal. all this and within 24hrs of you doing a job! there will be no gain finacially or otherwise in doing this so the price would be full on, at a guess i would think i would want £100 to even think about it. 10mins chipping would be minimum 1 hrs work unless it really worked for them . Good luck hope you get a set up that works for you. i would advise just do jobs where you can leave arisings on site, surprising when you give the customer 2 prices 1 to clear site and other to leave how many find a place to put it!!
  21. i think it`s about time you got yourself a woodmizer!!! some lovely pieces of timber and some nice tidy stack. love to see the solar kiln sounds very interesting:thumbup1:
  22. Just a heads up to the younger people on here, there is a weight classification to age as well. I am sure you have to be 21 to tow the full amount and dwn to i think 5 tonnes max trailer weight for 16 year olds. You see lots of nippers harvest time with 14 tonne grain trailers charging round the country roads but i think they are illegal!! there was another rule where you could only tow a trailer that you could see over the top of at 16 as well!! big mine field Mogs, fastracs and the like, be carefull on the distance from base running Ag diesel and taxation, from memory it is 40miles. also you can only carry your goods back to your base or delivering you goods from your base. good luck:confused1:
  23. Have sent you a private message but no reply:confused1: would love to have a chat about it:thumbup1:
