  10. Blimey that is to close for comfort, about 2 miles from here! Will keep an eye in the usual places round here and on my travels. A friend was out talking to one of his tractor drivers in a field, left his Range Rover sport in the gateway about 40meters away on a quiet lane, as he got to the tractor, the driver jumped out and shouted as his range rover sped off up the road! this was a few years ago. If you got the brass neck it`s easy so they say.
  11. would you get wood from doing that tree? I think i might:blushing:
  12. no worries rupe It was not my intention to find out how much you quoted. Just interested on how peeps would tackle trees of this size and what it would be worth
  13. OHHHHHH my GOD !! look at the gobs on them, you can see it was cold today Sweeet
  14. Right quote competition time, I don`t expect rupe to answer what he quoted for it but what would others price it at, sounds like alot of rigging or a crane what would you do and how much? to remove to ground level leaving stump, remove all arisings. i would guess 2-3 days work with rigging so competaive quote £1800.
  15. Naaaa 50% now then another 50% next year, double bubble buddy. or try the 50% now skin them upto poles next year and sugest growming creeper on them then remove the third year triple wammmie:001_cool:
  16. When your there Frank can you find out how many logs in a half load? also how nmany in a full load?
  17. The rule down here from the tree officer! is max 50%, thought that was a bit harsh but hey ho, took ours to about 40% off left 60%. As said hard to kill laylandi unless you remove all gree growth then they get a bit upset.
  18. How about sending BT a bill for prevention of damage to thier equipment? Small amount not ott and see what response you get.
  19. Actually it`s £400:blushing: not that i have ever used that one:blushing:
  20. i was told if your trees damage BT`s wires then they will try to charge you for the repairs. Don`t know if this is true or not never been in the situation yet.
  21. There will nearly be a van load of sawdust from that baby, some nice firewood in a couple of years. What was the road called Beech road? Beech Avenue?

    Muddy yard

might be to do with the type of ground your putting it on, light chalky ground down here works fine, but get some sloppy clay it could be bad news i guess. Get it down before the ground gets to wet might help, prevention is better than cure! never had any problems with it looks smart and horses or vehicles dont move it. Better with more wood chip than leaf for obvious reasons

    Muddy yard

as long as you keep putting fresh on top they are fine, got the transit out of muddy holes loads of times with a few shovel fulls of wood chip. Use them in gateways to makes a lot of difference soaks up the moisture. also they don`t wreak a mower if you need to mow the track or field good call Gavin:thumbup:
  24. mine is usually a Land Rover, motivates me to work and then home again if it aint broke down:001_tt2:
