  6. If you have the pennies go for the best you can buy. you will never wish you had got the better one then. sounds good mendips
  7. Reg coates has to be there for his inovation!! steve bully bullman rupe mark Bolam Skyhuck talks a good climb sure i have seen some decent shots/videos of a Monkey d! not seen much of any others so cant comment That Treewizard is pretty handy to!! ohh and Jo hedger (as she even got my fat arse up a tree!!!) ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  8. could well do in the near future. changed to the higher level stewards ship scheme this year, when the dust settles there cold well be room for this type of work. thanks will keep you posted
  9. AGREE 100% got myself a erdgar brothers for my .223 4x40x40 was impressed with it costing around £100. not apatch on a leupold or a nightforce or a schmit but these would be 5 times the price or more. for an air rifle you dont need much magnification as your distance will be minimal. If you are hunting late evening / lamping go for as big a front lense as you can afford this will give you as much light in the scope as possible. so a 3x9x50 would be ideal.
  10. LOL neither now was working for local eletric comp on the powerline clearance but my main occupation is farming, tractors mainly. spent 17 years on 1 farm got made redundant then went along the tree route for around 4 years but big shiney tractors and a free house drew me back to farming!! still love the trees and have brought with me a good bit of experiance working with trees. glad i did it and would go back any day maybe not on the powerlines more forestry or estate maintainance

  12. looks like a Ally cast to me, if it is you wont weld it to steel any sense. bolts should be ok, guessing they are original fitting points for winch! takes alot to snap bolts flush fitted like they are.

  23. looking closer it might be they have had to put a bigger transformer on it bigger than pole mounted, so at the bottom of the pole there may be a ground mounted transformer. L.v might run down pole as well! not sure As i said photos can be deceptive when you cant see the whole picture
  24. last picture is 11kv over open lv over ABC, it also has a 11kv underground service running from the 11kv, the Lv and ABC is not fed from the 11kv at this pole as there is no transformer! Photos can be so deceptive as you cant look round to see what is on the next pole! if in doubt think higher voltage to be safe
  25. I really think some folks on here should not get involved if they are not sure! Some are saying it`s BT some are saying L.V insulated! some are saying get in touch with local power distribution. If you dont know what the line is you will not have the qualification to fell less than 2 tree lengths. As others have said there is a distance in meters from wooden and steel Pylons but Please dont push your luck and try to cut without asking first. You cant see electricity, it dosnt smell and when you hear it its TO LATE! your local electricty provider is willing to help, often it wont cost and the provider is there to keep the network safe! Last thing they want is clueless peeps working to close to it and something goes wrong!
