  1. no edit this to THIS MUST HAVE PICTURE PROOF!!!!!! please lol:thumbup:
  2. A decent employer should be praising you for thinking ahead . I certainlly would, dont fanny around though straight question, straight on the phone if answer is no.
  3. A well set up wood burner should have a BRIGHT flame , if the flame is looking orange and dull the fire is being choked(not enough Air). I have found if you have the air wash vent open to far you will loose alot of heat, also if you have the bottom Air vents open to far you will loose alot of heat straight up! But in order to get wood burners working properlly you need heat in the wood burner and up the chimney. As long as you burner is in good order and flue/liner is in good order light fire and leave to roar for a good while until there is plenty of heat u the chimney then you can gradually close bottom Air vent down until it stops roaring, clsoe top vent down so it is around 1/4 open. no insulated flue liners dont draw as well as insulted ones. but evey chimney is different. another point is do you have a cage and ht on the top of your chiney , I have heard that wind accorss top can stop draw in fire below, belive it or not!
  4. what sort of prices are we talking here? my td5 disco really needs something up from 5th, was tempted to look into a 6 speed later model gearbox that they had fitted to the transit engine i think. more info would be welcome.
  5. this is where tree surveys come in, it can give you a little proof to what the conditon of the tree was. Many large estates are doing tree surveys on a regular basis to cover themselves if an event like this takes place. especially around roads and foot paths where there is ligetimate public access. Agree with above, My advice would be take lots of pictures before any clear up happens, especially root plate and any damge caused to your property and neighbours property. stick pictures on a cd and keep it safe you never know if you may need them. I removed some damaged branches from a tree in a private garden that were damaged from a willow, neighbours were all out as soon as saws were started . I took pictures of every branch we removed before during and pruning cuts. never heard another word but i got the pictures!!
  6. Alas no this was the Wizard of Arbtalk or to his friends Jonsie! Wizard Jonsie gathered all the fighting armies togeather in a small glade and stood on his chainsaw box to preach to the warriors. Now warriors theres no need to fight over this tiny piece of woodland it has no historical value the Ash are diseased and the fungi are big. gather round and i will tell you all a secret. listen in I shall say this only once!, Husqvarna chainsaws 50% discount from F and R Jones, 2% on stihls and a free 2inch felling wedge. come to the van i have hundreds here!! When all the warriors got their new saws from F and R Jones pdi`d and fuelled up there was one las tthing to do.............
  7. you did put the oil cap back on before picking it up?? not that i have ever done that!!
  8. LIKE LIKE LIKE LIKE:thumbup: the local tree and log boys better watchout theres a new boi in town!!! go get em cowboy! yeeee haaaaaa!!!!
  9. thanks both of you, if i find ya and have time i will pop by and say hello. lots to find out and get prices for loads of stuff lol glad i wont be paying the bill!!
  10. fill the woodburner with 3inch logs about 10/15 of them and it will burn for ages, good to fill the gaps with big logs to. As you say cracking on the open fire.
  11. had several people round here saying they dont bother with branches less than 6inch diameter! I quiet happy to log down to 3inchs. Was talking to one chap who said this and pointed out you dont have to split it , instant logs he now cuts down to 3inch diameter also. it as if they think it wont burn or burn to quick , i dunno.
  12. one of the biggest agricultural trade shows coming up at Newark. Any arbtalkers going to be there? I will be attending not sure which day yet.
  13. dry for the next week , mild with it , could well be cloudy though especially for southern areas. maybe a bit of rain sunday for most the country. At this present time no cold weather for England anyway. The are hints towards end of the month might see some more wintery conditions but that is wayyyyyyyyyyyy offf.
  14. ALWAYS LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE!!.... da dum... da dum.... dee dumm... dee dum. one big step forward, keep it going.
  15. After using most of what you are looking for i can understand your question. there is no real answer, I think i would go for a tracked mewp it can do all what you want and as you say it can be wide on roads. I am sure it would get used more because it will more likely fit into places say a 7.5tonner wouldnt go. what about getting a specific vehicle built? maybe a big mewp on a landy but with telescopic legs so you can use it on narrow roads but also shove the legs right out and go high or far! or a 4x4 7,5 tonner with a big mewp. good luck with this nice predicament
  16. sod the boat , i would much preffer to have a ride on these bad boys!!! classey shrek classy:001_cool:
  17. Chipper you have resorted back to the doom and gloom mode again. forget trying to make things not work. Now get ya arse in gear and MAKE IT WORK. No good sitting on here telling everyone why it wont work for you. Tomorrow organise some way be it bike, bus walk, lift pogo stick if you like to get to places around you. be it other villages or towns. When you have worked out how you are going to get to the work go find the work. When a future employer asks how you are going to get to place of work you can say well My neighbour works in xxxx village he has said he is hapy tog ive me a lift until i take my test. Offer to have at least taken your test witin trial period, this way it shows commitment to your future employer. Get off ya arse and sort it man And dont post how you cant do it again!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrr:thumbup1:
  18. what a difference in the way you come accross now, much more positive and thinking of ways to improve not who to blame!! keep it up you make your own destiney in life. As Garth has said you have to anything anytime to keep yourself going i know Garth was working 20+hours a day because the work was there and had to be done. this will buy you time when work gets slack. good luck
  19. how does he stay up in that tree? he has fantastic balance !!
  20. chipper try to more positive with your replies I know you are down but try to look on the bright side of ideas others have for you. electric bike or 50cc moped will get you a few miles , i used a push biek when i first started., Try to build on others ideas dont find problems with them all the time.
  21. Agree 100% It is the right way but sometimes you have to hold back from saying to much as it can be interprited the wrong way. I read you fourtrac as you were driving around illegally and should have known better! would i employee someone who dirives around illegal? = no It will come right for you and you will get the break you deserve but be happy to do what ever it takes to get you there and this can be a long way round. unfortunatlly it might be working for £6 per hour for a while but at least thats £48 more per day in your pocket towards where you want to be. good luck
  22. i am sure if you can get a job to pay for the test and pass it you will be fine, work will be coming out your ears. just be economical with the truth sometimes but dont lie!! sounds sillly but you seam to honest or you dont think what you write may be taken the wrong way. If we had an interview and you told me you had a fourtrac on the road and been told to stop driving it that would really concern me as an employer. Only tell whats been asked.
  23. right i am off to the bar before it gets to busy in there. Anyone fancy a pint my round!!
  24. No offence intended chipper just doing a bit of research as if i was future employer reading above post concerns me a little reading other posts concern me a little, enough for me to be warry of employing you . Sometimes being honest with things you have done is not the best way forward, i know honesty is the best policey but you can drive obvious so why when you have had work have you not spent some of your wages on doing a driving test? Instead of trying different ways to avoid the right route! This opens up many more concerns as an employer . My best advice to you is get a driving licence, i know what you will say can afford it without work! go get some work even if it is stacking shelves in tescos to pay for it get something. then work your way through your tickets get your basic CS 30/31. unfortunatlly most employers what to see tickets now adays as insurance companys and health ansd safety want to see them. all to do with PROVING you are competent. back to the driving licence you might be able to drive but what proof have i as i dont know you that you can and will pass a test within the first 6months of working for me!!! go find any work to get that driving licence the work towards where you want to be. took me 20 years to get the job i always dreamed of, i here now.
  25. I was thinking at least 1min 30 secs to get that bra off!! glad it made you jon have a good one
