  1. mmmm not sure on this one, reading the ag rules i can transport my own materials uptp a distance of 25 miles from base. without expemtion. If this rule you are saying of 1.5kms then every tractor in the country would need an O licence. Also i know for fact you can use a vehicle over 3.5t witout O licence and using tacho because we had to look into regarding a MEWP we had , it was ok as long as it was driven by a member of a working party to and from working site and less than 2 hours if i remember! If i was employed to drive vehicle then i would need an O licence!!
  2. go steady mentioning chip returning to your own yard as then they will have you for a waste licence too!!! if its not a saleable commodity its waste!! in their eyes. got to say i am out, dont want to give anyone the wrong impression! lol to grey for me
  3. thats fine if you have a work shop, decent welder and the skills to weld. some might find the bolt on ones more usefull, horses for courses
  4. you are right the dye stays in the filter but they can tell what is in the tank at the time of stopping so as long as there is white in the tank and you are on the road especially over 25miles from base you should be fine. you have a legitimate reason to run red. The problem you have is the chip box on it, hence the reason they think you are running as haulage i guess. I know nothing about this sort of situation a very grey area.
  5. you may be able to make a converter, only down side to this is everything gets pushed out the front more reducing lift capactiy. if they are MF brackets they are good brackets never had any problems with them. easy to weld on, onr point if your not much of a welder get a pro to do it then if anything happens like the someone hurt due to bag falling off you are covered.
  6. they look like MF brackets. we used to run a manitou and the brackets for these were £75, sounded a bargain so got 5 lol
  7. worst saw i ever come accross was a ryobi , my old man thought it was a good buy at £100, it only last 3 pulls of the cord and the pull start fell apart! then the replacement was like a pro saw badly sharpened, vibration was unreal it was so bad i didnt just get white finger i got white elbow!

  13. 62 Plate DIscovery in Black, blacked out windows very smart vehicle. Irish accent fella driving Offering generators and so called Stihl chainsaws. My husqy is more stihl than these saws!! wanted £100 for a saw! PMSL Obvious a bit dodgie , seen toady around Hampshire/ Wiltshire border. Usual action taken and they were keeping an eye out. dont be fooled folks genies look smart but probably got a hamster and a wheel inside.
  14. Self Propelled Power Unit Operator! or otherwise know as a tractor driver!! Jack of all trades master of NONE.
  15. Yea fine no problems, if you really want to be extravagant use metal pipes for the straight work especially if you will be splitting in the same place all the time, this will help reduce friction and flexing in the piipes.
  16. Tony darbyshire is the local man for you hedgesparrow, based near andover. Real good chainsaw instructor and climbing instructor. Have a google for sawpod as he is Mr Sawpod! his training side is a link from that website. Arborventure based down in the new forest also very good Jo and John are top climbers and instructors also. Have taken courses with both over the years never a problem.
  17. Aint got a clue mate:confused1: not seen one until these pictures:001_smile:
  18. My 357xp, bought direct from a husqvarna rep as it was his old demo saw! Not sure if it was tweaked from the factory but it like no other 357 anyone has ever used. If Treewizard sees this he will tell ya!! More grunt than a sow on heat!!
  19. Amazes me how people can decide if a saw is any good by 3 photos! I am sure you are right but at least give it a chance. I am not a lover of stihls but one or two are good robust saws. Lets hear some reports of them being used and any problems. It might be the dogs danglies of a saw and we all wonder how we went on without it!!
  20. make a point of going to this pub asking for a pint when ya finished goto the bar and ask for a pint that lasts longer at the same price!! that might make them think!!
  21. I have a springer called Holly, If you go down the route of Springer x Cocker then these are known as sprockers any way so sprocket would be good. Depends if its female or male to start with. do like chip, or woddy is a great name for a boy dog.
  22. Intersting rupe when i took out public liabilty it only covered myself and my business partner. If i was to sub contract you say then you would need your own public liabilty as i am contracting you for this job not employing you. If we were to employ someone and pay them through our books then we had to contact our insurers and have them added to our policy. this was a year or 2 ago and cant quiet remeber the details.
  23. very kind to offer the shed, if i can put it on the back burner for now and stick where i am much appreciated. p.s is it a shed or a shub?
  24. is there a house offerd with that? 3 bed, central heated, big garden, rural location. guessing not so i will stick to my low payed farm worker job:thumbup1:
