    Quads

Large bales dimensions and estimated weights of dry straw, hay could add 50kgs to 100 kgs per bale Round bales 4ft deep x 4ft high and about 4ft across = 250kgs Mini Heston bale= 8ftx2ft9inchsx3ft = 250kgs Quadrant bale = 8ftx 4ft x 2ft = 330kgs Heston bale = 8ftx4ft x4ft =500kgs all could be shorter we used to bale the mini hestons at 4ft long and bale silage these would be around the 500kg mark with wet grass in them. This trailer would be very handy if it would pick these up and carry them. Also it would be handy to be able to stand a 4ft bale on it`s end then all you would need to do is wrap a feeder round it job done.

  9. Here we go Make the caption for this picture:scared1:
  10. Just for fun!!! what i will do is post up a picture, you think of the funniest one liner to match the picture. On sunday evening i will decide the best caption and the winner then has to find a picture and post it up in a new thread and he/she is then the judge for that week. At the end of hat week they decide who wins and passes it on to the winner. Only the picture poster will decide the winner and a PM to that person as well as posting result in the thread wil hopefully keep the comp running. If the judge could post the results up sunday evening and the winner put up a new picture by monday evening . hope this is as clear as mud and good luck!
  11. i was always told 3 tries at any one branch then change something, either your position or the branch you are aiming at .All that happens is you get peed off and tension in the arm and you will never hit it
  12. last time i brought a new saw i was told they are pre run in, but as skyhuck said i popped a little extra fuel in the combi can.

    Wind

Bit dissapointed with the lack of call outs from last nights winds. Looking ahead there is potential for southern england to get some gales later in the week , i will keep an eye on this and let everyone know if it is likely to happen
  14. I think alot of this stems down to how your equipment is used and by whom. for climbing kit i would say that it is acceptable not to do loler inspections by a third party if you and only you use the equipment and never lend it to others or share kit. As for lowering kit i think this is a must because there will always be someone else using the kit i.e groundie on a rope . I think i would be happy for a third party to inspect all my kit and if the inspector found a faulty piece of equipent then fine. Bit like an MOT on a car we have to do it so we do it , if it wasn`t law then would we bother? and would the vehicle be safe for use all the time! How can you decide what experiance someone has of what condition a piece of equipment is, all interesting.

  24. I never climed a tree until i was 34, got through cs38 looking forward o doing 39. It`s a tough job you will ache and it will hurt but if your happy to do it then go for it. Contract climbing might be a tough line but if you can find a job with occasional climbing or in a team that has some younger fellas and you climb as and when and keep your aroel rescue up to geather you`ll be fine. good luck
