  3. Get a steering drawbar whatever you go for - incredibly useful.
  4. I think you have to go through them for parts - there is quite a lot of machine-specific bits on them. If buying new you should be ok - I’d steer well clear of second hand though personally, it’s a potentially very expensive minefield with no option to shop around.
  5. The UK Teupen service agents are useless, and the machines are massively complicated. I can’t comment on the others as I have no personal experience.
  6. I used to have one of those - it had 9 disk blades and earned me loads of money!!!
  7. No idea! Look in the operator’s manual, it’ll tell you in there. There will definitely be controls somewhere to stop you running it with your fingers in spinny choppy areas though!
  8. Check all of your proximity switches first (bonnet/chute etc). And that your battery is good.
  9. It almost definitely won’t be - that’s gear oil. It’ll be ISO 32 or 46, check with Först.
  10. I’d go with what’s available soonest tbh - can’t see it making a great deal of difference unless you regularly move something that is particularly difficult to load. We had the skids on the previous GH trailers, but I’d avoid them in the future. They were joined together and subsequently flexed/eventually broke as not always unloaded on level ground. The ramp is much better. Don’t get the 10 inch wheels either - I spec’d them first time round to keep the floor heights low but the tyres are quite fragile if not driven with care...
  11. I’d imagine it comes down to axle units - they’ll fit them onto the trailers already built up by their supplier and possibly don’t use a narrow enough axle with the big brakes anywhere in their range.

  14. It’s easier to hitch up a loaded trailer with a ball-hitch on your own as the hitch will partially self-align when lowered onto the ball. Ring hitch needs more accuracy IME.
  15. GAP spec is approx 1300mm bed width and 1800mm overall width
  16. Has it been chipped to 370bhp? Was it a bit underpowered before?!..
  17. How much is it to tax? Was the starter motor an engine-out job? I’ve heard they are a nightmare to work on and labour bills end up being very expensive for some jobs. I’m not really bothered about fuel consumption, more concerned about massive unexpected bills on a cheap old car tbh!

  20. The new TT3621 and the old TT126 essentially have the same floor height. Some of the smaller tippers (such a @Lowestoft Firewood’s above) are on taller wheel/tyre combos which subsequently raise the bed height - as the trailers are also narrower it does make them feel a lot more top-heavy and ‘tippy’ when carrying plant. The older TT126 was in some ways better than the current TT3621 IMO - it was much easier to completely remove the headboard so you could carry bigger vehicles more easily (I’ve had Landy 110s and a Toyota Dyna on one before now), and you could attach the ramps to the lip on the side of the bed to side-load machinery or parbuckle big logs. The TT3621 is a good bit of kit though, I wouldn’t be without one.
  21. I think you’d end up having two loads needing four trips tbh... Some things are best not known!

The GAP spec was designed for that hire firm’s fleet - it has heavy duty wheels and tyres, led lights, extra tie down points, double leaf springs and the ring hitch (so the actual drawbar is a slightly different shape, so you need a spacer to turn it back to ball-hitch). IW dealers will know what you are talking about if you ask for one. I believe the only real difference is the hitch itself being rated to 2.7 tonnes as opposed to 3.5 tonnes. I don’t know if you can possibly order one as a 3.5 tonner, it might be a type-approval issue as that size trailer has been designed as a 2.7 tonner (that would be a question for the dealer though). They will carry the weight though no problem, if you aren’t too bothered about ultimate legality... The GH1054 is physically not a great deal bigger and is a 3.5 tonner. The extra width means you can get a 2.7 tonne digger in it too. Maybe worth considering?
