  1. wait and get a feel for the saws at college/work placements, try as many different models as you can, a 200T is for climbers only, so will hinder you as H&S say we're not allowed to use them on the ground no-one will expect a new worker/trainee to bring their own saw, only maybe boots, trousers and helmet just be patient and wait
  2. 3rd that, checked mine daily when i had it, i had a tree flex 2-3yr ago only used it for 7months, had one of the faulty bridge ones, where they haddnt used the correct stitching, and as there was a protective sheath, you couldnt notice it. there was a recall after a guy (abroard i think) had his fail. when i looked at mine, there was no way it was going to take shock-loading, or possibly another climb-there was a 10mm gap between the folds with the stitching 50% appart-scary stuff!
  3. hogroast x 4 beer x4 200T (hard to refuse at that price) blaze climbing line
  4. best crack it out tommorrow then! wait a min, its still daylight, what you doing on here
  5. 880 is far to big for a fire-wood saw, totally un-nessary unless youre ringing up 4 foot plus diameter! 460 all the way best place to buy? AA trade fair this fri/sat
  6. yep, just been out, put an old 020 carb on, tuned it, runs a treat again, dont know what was up with the old carb, put a new diaphram kit on so thought that would be it for fettling the carb, obviously not, not even our local dealer could figure it out-they just returned it with the problem, then again they are beyond useless:thumbdown: was doing my head in as thought id covered everything! thanks everyone!
  7. does porting keep them cooler then? the 10yr old 020 is ported and an animal! cheers for replies
  8. will an old 020 carb fit the MS200? got a few 020s kicking around to try
  9. MS200T running crap, will idle for a bit then occassionally will start idiling irratically, revs up and down but not enough to run the chain, then stalls its-self. also if i pull the throttle trigger too quickly it will either take a second at a deeper tone like the chain-brakes on, then rev up or will stall-need to apply throttle slowly to prevent this air and fuel filters fine, stripped/cleaned/rebuilt carb, checked spark plug, retuned it/fiddled with tuning and now stumped to what to do! any ideas? it has had 2 years of hard use, so maybe its times up? may have to take a trip to jonsies at the AA! then again my 020 is 10years old and still going strong
  10. i like that little one alot!
  11. lol, swb aka the black night [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKhEw7nD9C4]YouTube - Monty Python-The Black Knight[/ame]
  12. what were the results for the above saws john?
  13. depends what youre used to i guess, then agian, the light switches and eletrical switches at home all flick up to turn off i like the fact that its the on/off, choke, and half throttle is all on one switch, simpler imo
  14. some interesting ones from today, not 100% on topic
  15. took a swing into a peg (lesson learnt) went to hospital next day just to stop my then girlfriend giving me ear-ache, 3 hours out of hospital with 3 cracked ribs, was back climbing, admitidly slowly and like a robot! just take it steady, most of the pain went after about a week, but had twinges for a month when twisting in the harness or lifting
  16. i dont reckon schumacher is the stig-looks too slim compared to last series stig! reckon he was there just to drive the fxx-ferrari prob wouldnt let anyone else anywhere near it!
  17. or printer ink! dont worry about the tree work, they dont worry about silly stuff like trees, the bloke will turn up on site in trainers, shorts, no helmet or any other ppe, and check for empty crisp packets in the truck, dust on the dashboard, or scratched saws - a sure sign of bad tree work that so dont eat youre lunch, vallet youre truck and polish youre saws then once hes gone, you can actually get on, and do some tree work
  18. youre project will be a book joe, this will be the never-ending thread! stihl for me as was the first saw i used at 13 and never really given huskys a chance, just think its easier to stick with one brand oh and i dont like the huskys start/stop switch or choke thingys, stihls one is a real neat design
  19. why diddnt you thin the upper right hand side of the crown whilst you were there, for asthetics if nothing else?
  20. got oak and ash and beech which matches what youre after, will be getting an alaskan mill at the aa fair, so anytime after youre welcome to come select what you want for a few pints at me local
  21. yeah, that looks like youre having a hard time there, what with the levers on the loader to push, the bags to prop open, doesnt look like you know what youre doing atall... wish i had a loader
