  1. It's just if you do a search for Dolmar it defaults to the Makita site. I know the Dolmar brand has disappeared in the US.
  2. Sorry to slightly hijack this thread but has Dolmar now disappeared as a chainsaw brand totally replaced by Makita ? (was going to suggest the Dolmar equivalent to above).
  3. Are you sure your not going through the male menopause? Been quite tetchy in recent posts.
  4. Is the cover original Stihl or replacement copy ?
  5. Stihl bar slot is 12mm wide if that helps.
  6. Totally agree. Try taking the saw to a dealer and try a stihl bar on it.
  7. So this is what post apocalypse Arbtalk looks like.
  8. |Hooray! I thought everyone had died on this forum
  9. Is it running on or simply trying to run away ?
  10. Seriously? It's a wonder it runs at all !
  11. We seem to have a natural talent in this country at looking down the wrong end of a telescope. I am guessing that the emissions of one passenger jet plane taking off fully loaded for one flight is greater than the emissions of all chainsaws in this country for a year.
  12. Seriously I've lost the will to live!
  13. Totally agree but the 2016+ saw have been rock solid.
  14. Yep. Did not realise you were going to try and use them on e clips.
  15. I wouldn't be too sure , I had these and they are crap. Bought some much better and not that more expensive Hilka ones
  16. Could conceivably see it happening if you were running it in a piece of Chinese crap that has to run at 25:1 ?.
  17. It was probably just a matter of luck if you got a bad one or a good one and there may well be bad new clutch drums lurking in old stock rooms ( hopefully they have been withdrawn by Stihl but their response to this problem has been appalling).
  18. If you go into the Stihl safety data sheet for this product if refers to it being a full alkylate fuel. Stihl USA , depending on which site you use, also describes it as alkylate (not that I use it , I use Aspen )
  19. Motomix is alkylate just like Aspen but using their own Ultra 2 stoke oil.
  20. Seriously? It's Chinese crap. '
  21. The 2017 version has no reported problems with the clutch drum as far as I'm aware. The original problem seems to have been a metallurgical one within the drum structure which has now been rectified.
  22. No the MS 260 has no history of this problem (it uses a very slightly different drum).I have run one for years with no problem. It always helps to grease the bearing but it won't cure a bad drum.
  23. The sad thing is that this is a good saw and if Stihl had manned up in the first place this total stain on their reputation could have been avoided.
  24. Definitely kick this one into touch. Stihl should be totally ashamed of the way they treated customers with the issue of crap clutch drums. There should have been a total recall and new drums fitted as default not on an as needed basis. Brand protection at its worst (and I have a 2018 ms261).
  25. Been that way for a while now. Basically if you have ordered spares from L&S before you can continue to do so. I phoned them about this issue last year I think and that was what they told me. They are a very helpful firm.
