  1. big barn = big rent (thats only half the barn) when you are full time, you will find 20 cube wont even last you a week, so be prepared
  2. oh yeah you need a MASSIVE storage area for the amount of seasoned wood needed to survive off. bear in mind, whatever money you make, you need to re-invest in wood for next year, fuel and running costs. wages and tax. when self employed you need to turnover atleast twice if not three times as much money as you would want to live off. good luck mate where you based to???
  3. yes i do as felix says look after the summer customers it takes time to build up a summer clientel its hard work be prepared to do another job in summer as money is slow save some of your winter money for the summer you wont get rich quick on this and follow every avenue

  14. do they do a good cover to stop the dust gettin into the vitals??? and can you swap sims easily if on the same network????
  15. or just buy a cheap pay as you go one with credit and give your mates some joke calls till the credit runs out and swap sim cards. in the same bout as you with o2... nokia 5800 now sent off for repair
  16. structure, texture, strength, flexibility, colour, properties, durability, workability. good city library should have a few books, but that is where most of the info is unfortunatly. would put some book names on here, but moving house and all packed away
  17. are you thinking of doing this lee??? i had a lucas mill all i'll say is do your research, then do some more, get some experience off/with someone who already does it, then make your decission
  18. need to know what stove you got and how you currently use it now. every stove is different and i aint no expert, mine is an AArrow and its crap if i want conifer to burn as well as hardwood burns, i have to replace all the seals (which have to be done every year anyway...cos stove is crap) and reduce the air right down. works for me when stove is shut down on softwood i never get black glass put hardwood in last night and came down to black glass this morning i have burnt pine alongside beech, both the same size and in the fire at the same time, both burnt out at the same time ash burn out quicker than pine when i tried too also the bigger the lump, the longer it burns
  19. if you are buying a brand new model then any problems i had will not happen with your machine. this is because i worked with m.large and massalan when i was having problems, suggested and fitted the new modifications and strengthening and all working fine now. all these changes have now been adapted to the new models other owners have also made suggestions/ modifications which have also been adapted. if anything goes wrong, then it should be small. good machines:thumbup1:
  20. yes yes yes snob value.....and most people cant use thier stoves properly. this is my personal opinion (conspiracy theory)........ my belief is that a woodland owner"" like(but not meaning)"" the FC started a rumor that softwood was no good to burn in stoves/fires as it will tar your chimney...Etc Etc......to stop people cutting down thier unfenced woods so they could be grown on for timber value and dissapear as free fuel for the layman many many years ago
  21. i stack mine 3 high:thumbup1:
  22. i dont see a problem with selling softwood. i bought in 75ton (3 artics)of larch this year and its all gone, some customers are even saying its the best wood they have ever had and doesnt turn the glass black. all wood burns and gives off heat so whats the problem. if there is no tissue paper to wipe your ar$£ with you'd use a news paper, they both do the same job and come from the same source......... just one is full of $h1t before you use it!!!
  23. if chainsaw......billet and process fresh if circular saw...billet then process when dry yes lots of saw dust....but the horses get lots of bedding
  24. not more snow..................i'll never get to my crochet class now!!! tbh we never get much in cardiff, does stop me gettin out in canoe though
  25. oh dont get me wrong, 10 out of 10 for service, same with fuelwood, we all have faults but i have been looked after...................very well in some instances by both companies. wish i could say the same about a scottish company though. vertical splitting takes longer. have you thought about billeting 4 ft long then putting through processer. works ok for me but is double handling
