  1. sorry mate, you'll have to excuse my ignorance on machines, but i aint got a clue what you are talking about:blushing: all i know is the products i have tried, not the machines they are made with! but if you have the time i am intrested to know the differences as this is something i would like to do, you obviously make these briquettes, so would you be willing to pass on this knowledge? it would be appreciated.
  2. always found lime pretty good, burns nice and hot with a good flame, and eventhough it has a high moisture content when felled, it always dries out quite fast. i never turn it away for these reasons and an be a godsend towards the end of the season when fast drying woods are needed oh, even when fresh it can give off a good heat, but i wont recommend burning any fresh woods indoors
  3. well???........................which ones are they then i have trialled a few myself and have found TREENERGY's type to be the hottest, and i know what you mean by the softer ones
  4. andy do you make the briquettes aswell as sell them???
  5. shocking display of disrespect as sister sells recently died brothers uniform and medals to on a cruise:thumbdown: Fiancée of dead soldier upset as sister sells his medals to enjoy a cruise | Mail Online what a terrible thing to do, and will anoy more people than just dean, well done to the trader who just gave them back free of charge to the fiance though
  6. as i am looking for a new stove to be installed in my new house, i have looked at many many stove brochures, not yet found one that says " do not burn softwood" they do say hardwood is better but also say it is ok to burn softwood but all wood must be well seasoned
  7. where exactly in se wales mate, i'm in cardiff, might be able to help
  8. yes as recently refered to on this site its all GOOD firewood though:001_cool:
  9. bleeding canker i believe, very common in mature/over mature hybrid grafted cherries dealt with loads of them down here, does cause heart rot in crown union and can travel down the stem from center out. thats from my milling days experiences
  10. to be honest mate, and i have processed arb logs for years, it is a lot of work and takes a lot longer than the nice forestry stuff at 8 ft long and 10-12" diam which is fast, very fast and with the added hastle of having to move it in such small lengths, where it does'nt stack nicely and is full of air, just adds to the woes. i wont tell you what i would pay you for it, but i will tell you that if you sold it for seasoned firewood, you would not fail to sell out and you would make a lot more money than what it is worth now just sitting there, and slightly more than what it would go for un-processed good luck mate, i wish you all the best rekon you got 60 processed cube there too
  11. sorry dave i know its personal to you, but the same would be if i bought milk or even a tv....... but i will haggle on a car......cos they expect that

  13. good question huck, it is arb logs after all, must be for habitat piles then as it could be rotten and diseased:sneaky2:
  14. oooohhhh that gets my goat, both comments if they dont want to pay, they dont want the product i had one customer that tried to stiff me for a tenner, so i took his money and then proceded to throw some logs back on..... he soon paid up one lesson i have learnt is the next person to call will buy the logs, i cant be bothered with the haggling when i buy my fuel at texaco i pay what it is on the pump.... no argument, no haggle no discount for cash why should logs be any different
  15. is arb waste any good for firewood and worth £800??? sign out front "Cheap Firewood, fill your boot for £10" no hastle, just money:thumbup1:
  16. hmmmm this hay making lark seems easier than the forestry "The rate is £9 tonne for logs and bars, £13 for fencing and £6 for chip. As you get paid for what you cut down then you can do how every many days in the week you like to work around yourself. You will have to supply your own fuel. you will get paid every 2 weeks and when your wood is extracted out of the woodland" i've been told it takes around an hour to bale 1000 smale bails, not including cutting and spinning before hand though
  17. £4.50 just to bail it round here, not sure how much its sold for
  18. from experience it is hard, but just persist and be polite, everntually oyu may get somewhwere, after you get your first place its easier to move around IF you have been a good tennent. but yes it can be a case of have money to make money
