  1. We stack upto 4 high but you do need a proper forklift to keep safe at that height.
  2. Is it a full cubic mtr bag or a builders bag at half a cube. I normally charge per day as it is less risk but if they insist on price per builders bag then I normally charge £10 a bag for only half a cube. I would certainly not be putting 5-6 cube an hour through my Palax Combi as I value my back. Maybe ok for the first couple of hours but you will certainly know about it after processing 300 tonnes.
  3. We use the IBC frames for logs but the Inners make excellent growing chambers if you live in an exposed position like me. Chop the top off 2 inches inside the top frame and put to one side. Turn IBC on side with tap facing upwards. Level IBC with an inch of water in the bottom. Fill base with pea gravel or similar. I use 25kg of Alumina beads only because I have them to hand. Then plant veg in 3 ltr deep pots for long rooted and 2 ltr shallow pots for short rooted. Can get upto 18 pots per IBC. Finally use the top turned on its side as a door with two canes holding it up and you have a rabbit proof mini greenhouse that only requires watering once a week and no weeds if you use sterilised compost. Also excellent for strawberry growing.
  4. Have a look on farm auto trader. Not a big fan of the Bay. Just been done even though the highest bidder with 20 seconds to go then told the sale finished 1 minute earlier so lower bid won.
  5. Is it just me or is the other sale advertised of 4 x 8ft lengths of softwood for £25 a real bargain. I would expect the whole trailer load for that price.
  6. Commercial pallet racking is ideal for buildings as it is only bolted to a concrete floor so should not require planning as classed as a temporary structure. I clad mine with straw bales as it is a sensitive site but eventually will be using yorkshire boarding once I have got around to sawing up the timber.
  7. Just pricing up parts and came across engine overhaul kits the main difference in price being "chrome liners" or "cast liners". Anybody have experience of either or both and what is the best
  8. Think it will need a new crank, con rod and piston repair kit (3 pistons and rings) Second hand engine would just be an easier option and maybe more original then the yellow engine which has been put in. (industrial ?????)
  9. I use industrial pallet racking to form the shell of the building then just clad with tin sheets. Just put rawl plug bolts direct into a concrete slab and everything else just slots together. Frame goes up in a matter of hours and tall enough to have a mezzanine floor in which I store my hay bales on out of the way of vermin.
  10. Much appreciated. I will be down your way in a couple of weeks time for my daughters graduation. Maybe a good time for a slight detour
  11. Just taken the engine to pieces on my MF 550 to find the little man with a sledge hammer. Outcome is No 1 Piston is hitting the head looking deeper found that the big end bearing has gone literally. No top shell and a sliver of metal for the bottom shell. Obviously both crank and con rod is U/S. Does anybody have a 3 cyl engine similar to MF 35 in good condition or know where to get a good recon short engine at a reasonable price. Otherwise does anybody want a MF 550 with a knackered engine.
  12. I normally charge £250 per day plus fuel but work on 10 tonne per hour. Unfortunately Cumbria is a bit far as I normally do 25 mile radius from Bolton.
  13. Make sure you wear a dust mask. My father died at the age of 50 due to inhalation of sawdust. His job was the wood machinist at the local ship building graving dock where the majority of his work was repairing the wood bearings on ship propellers (Lignum Vitae) or replacing ship decking (Teak). When they opened him up they suggested that he died due to smoking 100 cigarettes a day and his lungs were clogged. After explaining he had not smoked a cigarette in his life they tested the dust and found it was predominately Lignum Vitae.
  14. If you have deep pockets 12-13m is no problem. Have a word with Northern Polytunnels they do large cantilever type structures as well as normal polytunnels.
  15. Venue will be close to Blackpool but actual arrangements still to be confirmed by the Auctioneers.
  16. Must be the Turbo charged Dalen 2052 as the youtube video seems to be pretty slow and would certainly not do a m3 in 5 minutes.
  17. I take it there is no interest.
  18. I think the injection is used more to kill the tree on species which readily grow back eg ash willow etc. In respect of conifers they dont seem to grow back and I have never used any chemicals to kill them off.
  19. Cant really see a problem but you will need two to process it. One on the pile passing the timber out and the other processing. Output will not be as quick as nice straight timber but the guy on the pile should be able to keep the guy on the processor feed with timber. Timber will also be harder to split if already seasoned compared to fresh green timber.
  20. Yes mine has the restart button. My MB Trac is supposed to be 100 hp but I think with age its probably more like 80 hp although being a straight 6 and no turbo it does seem to have a lot of grunt and I have not managed to stall it yet.
  21. The one point that report does not stress is timing of any ring barking operation. I cannot find it at the moment but an Austrian report highlighted the critical nature of timing of the ring barking in respect of sap rising or falling and the knock on effect of the root structure and potential for regrowth. Maybe someone else can shed light on this.
  22. Sorry but when my heizohack does not work I just kick it and I always come off worse. Now intrigued how did you sort
  23. Anybody interested in a North West timber Auction. If so what size lots makes most sense. Timber is either in large rings or already split into logs. Would also be interested in selling surplus forestry equipment at the sale if anybody needs to get rid of surplus plant. PM me if interested.
