  1. Depends on how far you want to travel but if you want fish then the fish shop opposite Fleetwood docks takes some beating. Chippy but also proper fish restaurant.
  2. Still 10 years newer than my MB Trac
  3. Tip as much woodchip / logs etc as you like at our farm just North of Bolton. If you want to do it yourself make sure you get all the correct licenses from the environment agency and approval from the local planners.
  4. Might be useful to someone Used TimberJack 1270A | Other Farm Equipment | Farmers Weekly Classified,
  5. Ended up at £5555.55 reserve not met. I am surprised it even made this much considering the gearbox problem. Wonder how soon it will be relisted.
  6. Had to send the _rap pellet press back to the Italian manufacturer but most disappointing the UK agent has done nothing.
  7. Have spotted on the bay Mill offcuts bundled at £35 per tonne. Dont know whether any use but thought of you.
  8. Thats the problem with the high cost of mechanics it would probably be cheaper to replace with a new gearbox then to identify the cog and selector that is causing the problem and replace.
  9. I do like the power of the internet. See something you want and then get Heath Robinson to build it. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=256rBriIT28&feature=related]mechanical wood splitter - YouTube[/ame]
  10. Have you asked the same question with Super Splitters. They originally manufactured the machine before DR copied it. I know there was a dutch importer for there 2 way splitter but I dont know whether this model is also available in the european market.
  11. I bought one of the first Jinma 204 imports back in 1998 great little tractor did over 6000 hours before the 2 cyl engine gave up the ghost. I bought a MF 550 to replace it but should really have just replaced the engine as the MF 550 cannot do many of the things the Jinma could do. The 2cyl engine was replaced by 3 cyl engine and I have not heard a good report from anybody who has bought the newer tractors. They still make the 2 cyl but it does not comply with new Euro emissions standards so dealers cannot import although I am considering a direct import from china.
  12. Remember to take a big fat wallet as parts are very expensive for MB Trac.
  13. If this guy still has all his fingers on his left hand I would be very surprised. Just look how close he gets to the splitting blade. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCkV7qdDV_4]super splitter - YouTube[/ame]
  14. My tractor came with two green parts books one for the engine and the other for the rest of the tractor. The part numbers should be the same as on the Merc computer system although I have had the occasional part with a revised part number. Occasionally the part books come up on the bay and I think you can still get them online direct from Merc.
  15. Now buy my MB Trac parts direct through Mercedes Commercial Vehicle spares department as I was fed up of being ripped off by "Unimog" specialists who bought from the same source then added there extortionate mark up. Make sure you take the full chassis number of your MB Trac otherwise there clueless as to where to start looking. Any problems go on the German MB Trac forums but you will need a bit of German to understand what there on about.
  16. Be interesting to see what price it does make. Given the cost of repairs I think the ebay auction price is already more than I am prepared to pay although as you say if Nick has a "minter" I might be tempted. Same problem really, have 2 do I need 3.
  17. I watched the Tempest one in action at the APF and I believe yours is a much better set up for UK size split logs. Any plans for making them and if so what sort of price. Would require folding chute extensions to enable logs to drop into the centre of an IBC container on each side.
  18. At the moment were just offering a free tip site at the farm as we have a large volume stock piled. Quality of chip is not as important as being fresh as rotting chip is difficult to handle. Obviously foreign bodies such as metal, glass and stones are a definite no no.
  19. What do you reckon to sort out the gearbox. Going on past record of Unimog dealers I reckon it would be at least £2k.
  20. If you had a lot to do then my shear mounted on excavator feeding straight into hazohack chipper is the easy way to do it.
  21. Nobody around me has anything other than soft ground. The mess farmers have made trying to get a crop of silage with heavy machines is unbelievable.
  22. Xerxses like the look of this but a bit confused about charges. They mention 2.75% which I presume is the card operators charges then talk about £0.10 per transaction and 3.5%. Do you mind me asking what charges you are actually being charged as the website does not seem to be very clear.
  23. Interested in this MB Trac Mercedes Mb Trac 1000 | eBay Cannot decide whether it is legit as it seems odd wanting a £200 deposit, Seems strange or am I missing something.
  24. All this talk of Knockers I just use my 3 tonne excavator bucket and push the posts straight into the ground. With all this rain the hardest job is not pushing the post to far into the ground.
