  23. Possibly the needle bearing had worn or disappeared causing the sprocket to run wibbly wobbly (technical term there[emoji23]) and wear on the brake band. Eventually probably wearing the brake band right through which then knackered the sprocket, or vice versa. http://www.cormacktreecare.co.uk
