  1. Look for the fountain of water when the first big lump hits the floor
  2. Fungus, I actually thought it was the rising of the seas and the failure of what was a land bridge between Gibraltar and the African continent. There is also another thought put forward that a huge earthquake around the area which is Turkey could also have caused the Tsunami. Whichever, it would still explain "the great flood"
  3. Blown up to life size don't you know.
  4. You buy them especially to wear in your photos with that silver fire suit Drew?
  5. Geez, reading all this I'm glad I'm going to be out for a couple of hours while they rip mine out. The worst I've ever had is a clean and polish.
  6. Is this for real? We don't get a whole heap of coverage in NZ and I'm nowhere near Sky TV at the moment. What is the place coming to when this kind of thing kicks off. Geez, I'm real glad I'm not there at the moment but boy does it peev me off to see these people ruining hard worked for businesses and homes. here's hoping that they get their just desserts.
  7. Never had a filling or a tooth removed in my life but got to have all four wisdoms out at start of september. It's all under general anasthetic so hopefully it'll be all good.
  8. Welcome to old age
  9. Too me it just seems that any excuse to have a riot is sufficient. I think there are a few ring leaders and a whole heap of band wagon jumpers and then it's all on. I don't believe it's got anything to do with the original reasons but more of an excuse to go smashing up windows, torching cars and buildings and looting. And yep, if you can keep those that are being civilised out of it then I'd go on the rubber bullets but I'd add caution that only the rioters are targeted.
  10. I've smoked it and I've also worked at several places that have random drug and alcohol testing. I've now given up the drink and the drugs for various reasons. Personally I don't want to work with people that are stoned, drunk, hungover or whatever. I've worked around power lines with people that have been off their tree and never again. I don't give two hoots what people do in their own time but there's a difference between having a relaxing smoke and getting absolutely hammered night after night. If you were drinking hard out every night people would assume you were an alchoholic so if you were getting totally trolleyed every night would you have a drug problem? As for the testing showing up on the 30th if you had a smoke on the 1st; that's absolute crap. I know a few guys who have passed the test after smoking for a week but keeping it clean on the weekend. If you managed to fail a test after this amount of time clean you a serious addiction.
  11. But then people opinions of me have never really been top of my priority list. A man after my own heart.
  12. Try clicking on the user CP at the very bottom of the page. I think you should be able to do it there.
  13. Imagine crapping on the floor in your house for two weeks without cleaning it up. Reckon the house would smell pretty bad too. Like I say; they need regular cleaning.
  14. Just remember you have to clean regularly so try and make it easy for cleaning.
  15. Sounds good. Plenty of foliage for hiding places and something to climb on. Logs and rocks for basking on too but don't just go and pick something out of the garden, they have to be sterilised as reptiles can pick up all sorts of nasties. Some people like to put them outside on hot days in a secure enclosure so they can get some natural sun light. If you can get to a zoo to have a look at their reptile enclosures that should give you a better idea of a good set up. Pet shops generally just put in the basics for ease of cleaning.
  16. I use to keep snakes, lizards, spiders, scorpions and any other bug and beastie I could get my hands on. Find a good specialist shop for the best advice, get as big a tank as you can possibly afford and make sure you have good heat lamps and UV lighting as they need it for their skin and health. They are also good escape artists, as are snakes, so make sure your tank is well secured. Basicly I'd say make sure you get your set up right before anything else. No point having a really nice dragon in a tiny crappy tank.
  17. I think, if you were attempting to fell that, once you had the gob in and had seen how much decay was in it you be re-evaluating your felling method or your underwear choice for the day
  18. Yep, one here recently. Second hand info so I don't know all the details but I believe it was a helicopter job removing some Coral trees off a cliff face. Climber went up one of the trees to rig up for the chopper lift and the tree snapped clean off at the bottom. The climber was roped in but not stropped so he managed to push himself clear of the stem as it went over. Walked away and carried on working but a lucky boy I would say.
  19. Can you expand as to what you found difficult with it?
  20. Me and the Mrs pretty much share the duties. We take it in turn to cook unless we do a big pot of stew that keeps us going for 2 or 3 nights. We share the housework too. I do most of the outside stuff like mowing and planting and getting the firewood. She does the hoovering and general housework. If I get free time then I'll help out inside but working six days a week and two big dogs that constantly want walking leaves little time for heaps of housework.
  21. I had to order several new saws for the new council arb team. I got four different quotes, 2 lots for Stihl and 2 for Husky. My local Stihl dealer not only beat the other stihl quote by a country mile he also did a better deal than those offered at the field days ag show just to get the business. We bought the Stihls from him and the Huskys from another local dealer. After all that both dealers are happy to accept saws bought from another dealer, no snubbing, no turning their nose up and we get quality repairs and rapid turnaround from both. We can take husky to stihl and vice versa. They both recognise the fact that they can't always beat the prices offered by other outfits but they can always give good quality of service. That service means it's easier to take the gear to them for repair rather than trying to hunt down spares ourself and it also means if we want to buy more gear we are likely to give them first go on pricing and less likely to shop around. we know we get a good deal and we know we get the back up service. There is no need for some of the petty mindedness that goes on with some suppliers etc.
  22. Yeah, was thinking about the addition to my firewood pile. I can't see any way around it. Suggestions are welcomed though.
  23. Crikey you've gone from the massive to the minescule.
  24. You get one guess Adam. Around half of the roots have or will have been ripped out. The tree will have little anchor on the side of the prevailing wind. It's a reasonable size Oak but still has plenty of growing left to do so I'm not sure how happy I'd be doing nothing. Unfortunately this is one of many around the township. Urban planning was minimal in those days.
  25. Well, the block paving idea was turned down. Apparently it's going to be concrete because that's the cheap option and what we have done forever. The tree will now have had half of the roots cut. Half to the prevailing wind side of the tree were done when the footpath last lifted and now another chunk will be cut, no, hacked, for the replacement of the driveway. Apparently they need to be 100mm deep for the base and concrete so the roots get hacked out with spade and axe. Interested in your comments and please don't shoot the messenger.
