    From the album: Tree pictures

  2. I had one of these, until I tipped it up along with the chips, I used to see a lot on the side of the railways. Potato Fork from Westfalia at our Agriculture inside the Treasure trove shop
  3. Fair old saving there then. Do they sell new blades 35/150's? A few months ago i got 3 sets for my 35/150 from Saturn for £150, a couple of weeks ago they phoned me up saying they have a new deal, 4 sets for the same price, lots of blades now:thumbup:
  4. Anybody got a longer one, fnarr fnarr ? I'm not sure how long it was, but i was sick by the end,2 days and a day chipping,. i left a bit because of the hv power lines and UPM did it later, but didn't chip it, must have been 12' wide:thumbdown:
  5. No probs, the local Tesco were told to pick up around 20 trollys that were gatherd up on a tidy up day, they said to bin them cos they couldn't use them again, even if pressure washed ????. It might take a while to knock one up but i'll let you know.
  6. I have the same barrow, it's been sat in the shed for ages and i'd been thinking of a log mover for a while. In true A-team style we made this one out of an old shopping trolly and a old 3/8 chain welded on to stop the log sliding around. It worked well, the bigger bits needed 2 lads to flip it upright, but they came off fine. Hydro hi tip would have been good for loading but the weight of the barrow didn't bother the grass much,i have some 12' ramps for dumping into a trailer:thumbup:
  7. I dont know where the Unipower is, but i saw an old Matador just passed Thirsk next to the A19 today,in need of some TLC
  8. I grafted mine on to husky mounts and are now spot on.
  9. I think it's a Darlington, more than likely ex-army, he has a spare set if you want your Major to do a weeely:001_tt2:
  10. A few old ones! ,all still in use apart from the second one,the old boy with the winch took the photo in the 50's
  11. Anyone else had problems with them? Mine have been spot on, I've had them a couple of months now. Oh apart from my groundy pretending he's Rosco from the Dukes of hazzard and renditions of Rubber Duck from Convy and "Houston we have a problem" is another popular one at the moment .
  12. I saw them at the APF a few years back and took this photo, looking back the Yew was way too good for it. I made the letterbox too big, but just cut some wedges and put them on the underside.
  13. A Yew log i did a few years ago now, i'll have to get the mill out again !!
  14. Up here Carillion run the show,Sodexo are just contracted to them, be it ground care, or catering. There are talks within DE, to try and get all the contracts under one big umbrella, and just have one huge firm looking after the whole lot, this will probably never happen because the 3 main players all have different years left on there contracts, Landmarc alone got a 10 year contract with a possible 5 year extension, and still have 4 years left on it.
  15. Cheers Joe As Mr Ed said, Landmarc support services look after the defence training estate. Carillion - who then use Sodexo to look after barrack grounds and camps. A while back, ISS waterers won a contract to maintain married quarters, gardens etc. Also if a regiment wants anything doing above and beyond the standard contract they can pay anyone themselves. I'm not sure about TA sites and this may vary a bit nationally. Hope this helps you out.
  16. Ok for some Mick, it's been chilly here today. Ash takedown pics from last week,it was full of rot about 12' up.
  17. I had the same problem in my TD5, I took the fuel pump out, and what looked like greasy sludge was hanging on the pump. A few weeks ago my old man had the same problem on his boat, it's apparently a fungus and can be treated with this stuff as well http://http://www.silmid.com/biobor/biocide.htm )
  18. I had the same niggle with the ear-muff fitting on my helmet (vertex),they did'nt fit tight on my head at all and seemed very flimsy,so i butchered a set of peltor ear-muffs,fed them through the inside straps and they're well snug now,the only snag is there's no snap open now,i'll just have to slide them half off one ear to hear other people talk ! . I was worried about the bluetooth side of things,(having crap handsfree stuff in the past),losing connection etc, i used them for 6 hours and no probs at all. Cheers Justin .
  19. Not as much wood ,but still a lot of works been done !!
  20. When i do that i use the saw the other way round (makes no odds though),on big stuff i angle my cut slightly down so it slides off easier and really big stuff i put a plastic wedge in on a short cord to my harness so there is less chance of the saw getting wedged before iv'e cut right through. Looks like a very productive climber to me,do you know him or is it you?
  21. I can guarantee it took 100 times longer:001_smile:
  22. The first pic is when we first moved in:thumbdown: The last pic is after a lot of work:001_smile: We're just in talks with the council over buying a small strip of land next door(get more sense out of my dog though) only been trying for five years!!!
