  1. Maybee your right,i'll keep trying it out for a while though, here's a quick clip of the mk 1 in action, sorry about the bad neck you will get (first effort on youtube!!!) oh and wareyour shades for the T shirt:001_tongue: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fTu_fvMSkk&feature=channel_page]YouTube - Hitchclimber[/ame]
  2. I'm not sure how you mean the Schwab /VT will get snagged up if it's the same sort of loop in the system as the LJ twin. Here's one with an extra wrap on the schwab just incase of a rouge snag and i've changed the rope for a bungee strop :001_smile:to keep everything tidier.
  3. It's not a VT but you could use one instead,i've been using this set up and it seems to work well,i doubled 2 tape slings together to get the hitch away from you (great for going up but only good for coming down if you have extra long arms to reach the knot)so i err got an old 17mm spanner, chopped it up a bit and then use this to pull the hitch down. It's a bit similar to use than the Lock Jack twin.
  4. Bugger. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOPKGuq9Z2A]YouTube - Waitomo chopper job[/ame] Sorry

  10. . Lets here some more. Put the chain on backwards on their chainsaw. Send them to get a couple of skyhucks, tartan paint, glass hammer,or a long stand. Put a half hitch in the middle of their rope.
  11. Yesterdays job,it was a really nice climb and good weather.
  12. Iv'e a 6m Husky pole saw thats Hydroaulic it's got plenty of poke, only down side is when your only doing low-ish stuff the pipes get snagged up on the ground ,it works off a 2 stroke motor on a back pack,i got it second hand years ago and would rather have a stihl one to swap between hedge cutter and saw head.
  13. Loads of work in Brisburn Ben,they had a big storm there a while back, like matty says post on @~*%$!":# and you'll be abel to work your way round oz.Have you anything sorted yet? i could sort a no out for a guy i used to climb with, who now runs a firm in Brisburn,And another no for a guy in Perth.

  15. [quote=Mark Bolam Has anyone climbed / dismantled a Monkey Puzzle (Chile Pine)? I did this one years ago paid by the guy's house insurance,it was no probs at all for me but the lads on the ground were not so lucky, think i used tape slings and took 3-4 branches off at a time, snatched a few big lumps off till it got under the lines then parked up the forwarder full of brash and felled the but on it,i'v still got some benches in my garden from the timber.I here your supposed to be cursed by the pygmy's? if you fell one
  16. [quote=nz paul;.how long you going out for? Going to Perth for a week to see my other halfs cuz, then fly in to Auckland and tour around both islands for 5 weeks before we fly out of Christchurch, not going to be long enough but it's the most we can do for now, still got mortgage to pay at the end of the day.Hoping to go round the bay of islands and then in to Rotorura to do a bit of hunting and fishing, then on to south isle and catch up with some old friends.:001_smile:
