  1. [quote=Boots; sorry for the mistake. I'll have to check my new ones out (still in box at work)and hope there the experts.
  2. I've been using these velcro pads with metal inserts in for years and years. There's loads of padding and i would recommend them to anyone. I got them from 'Freeworker' in Germany , there not cheep though ,around the 100 quid mark but well worth it if it's what you do for a living.I'm sure someone will sell them over here.
  3. Iv'e seen it bud ,i had to stop it when our lass came in ,I did'nt want the lecture about taking care while chipping bla bla bla
  4. It went over spot on Jason i think it must be the gob laying flat on the top of the stem ,if that makes any sense .
  5. The land owner said it was 10 years worth of horses having a go at it (should have been fenced off long ago) strange cos most of the other trees had been .
  6. Cheers Patchwork,i agree with you ,but it was just in the wrong place for the owner ,it stuck out like a tird in a swimming pool, and drew your eyes to streight to the tree ,but i see where your coming from 100%.
  7. I hope it sorts it out but it could go either way ,there was only a few inches left in 1 place, the horses had ring -barked nearly all the way round:mad1: I suppose it's a good thing the owner was keen to try and save it and not just fell it! Fingers crossed ,time will tell.
  8. Does'nt take a bad photo it's only 2 mega pix phone .I thought i'd send him a copy , with the invoice!
  9. I think the omnibus of wags boutique might be on one of the freeview channels
  10. This is Dave i got him 3rd hand 1st owner called him Dave, then 2nd owner changed it to Blaze ,(think he is more of a Dave my self) cant change it again ,poor lad wont know whats going on ! Likes quads,Landrovers and rabbits. Dislikes dog food and being left at home.(little bugger nicked my buffalo burger last night)so he is in the dog house.
  11. I've been looking around for a while for a 12v hiab/viper to mount on a ifor tipper(crazy money second hand) ,but i think this crane would be a better option,i'll have to check the weight of it first. I saw a trailer/crane at the apf ,the guy was saying the draw bar on a ifor was'nt up to the job and he wishes he had a quid for every time someone asked if the crane would fit on one.
  12. Can anybody recommend suitable mini forwarders for the task I liked the look of this one it's a jms900r trailer with a 900 sr crane on . Made by rico so they have been around for while (we used to have a rico wopa chopa, brush cutter years ago) The guy who Lee knows would be able to help you out i'm sure.

  14. Looks like something out of the Day of the Jackal; I fancy a 410 TDR. Come on Deerman show us your arsenal... If you have time have a look at this, it's some piece of kit! he goes on a bit but wait till he fires through a tractor weight... enjoy! [ame= ] [/ame]
  15. That it was!, I went back over to the left of the pick after i took the tops out , and tryed to make it look a bit more natural . But it 's never going to be as good as before, probably should have left the tops in but thats what he got advised to have done. There was a huge Magnolia right underneath ,that he did,nt want flattening ,i thought about lowering it (for about a second) so i let them go ,luck was on my side and everyone was happy.
  16. I have not done a lot over here, this was a Silver Fir I did in Germany in 2002 in the grounds of a drug clinic () I think we used Libra and then went on to Cobra.we took a few feet of the top and put a fairly loose brace in about two thirds up to stop swaying .There was a third stem that had snapped off where the 30m tracked cherry picker dropped me off at full reach (!) ... I was glad to get out of the cherry picker - I think it swayed more than the tree!

  19. The winch is home made. The old boy in the picture built it , he got the drum from the RAF. It was used for pulling large aircraft off runways when their under carriages had failed I think! He put a 300-1 reduction box on it,mounted it on a frame and put a massive set of spades on .It's very slow but wont stop at anything .Biggest problem is getting the rope up the tree ,you get to 40 ft up and a 1" rope is blooming heavy! He has plans to build a more powerfull one (i dont know why)and mount it on a driven trailer.
  20. Here is my bad boy! Just had it chipped and it's ten times better, get in!
